Question about $85 ticket pickup?

I purchased the online $85 ticket to pickup at the park on arrival. My question is, is there any way to stop and pick up your tickets without parking in the parking garage. I will be arriving late and do not plan to go to the parks that day but I would like to get my tickets so I will not have to worry about them the next morning. Where are the kiskos to get the tickets? Can I stop somewhere and get the tickets without going to the garage?

Thanks

The kiosks are right at the park gates, so I am afraid you'll have to wait until the next morning. There never seems to be a line so I think you'll be fine.

Do you need anything besides the printout they send you and the CC you used to purchase the tix?

Very easy to use those at the gate but yes, you do have to pay for parking. You are not saving any time by paying for parking and then walking away.

While a pain to make the walk, I think the parking garage is free after 6 PM so at least you woulsdn't have to pay for parking.

It is. But you're right, it's a long walk just to get your tickets. You could spend some leisurely time at Citywalk though.

The kiosks are turned off around when the park closes so if someone wants to do this they would need to make sure the park closed sometime after 6PM.

We just did this on Monday. We were visiting WDW to watch my niece play college softball at Wide World of Sports. We are AP holders but are taking my another niece with us to WDW and US this August. I purchased the $85 ticket and we picked it up between softball games on Monday. We got to park for free with our AP and the line at the electronic pick-up is clearly marked. It had about 6 people in it and we waited less than 30 seconds to be sent to a kiosk. You MUST have the credit card used to purchase the ticket to get it fromt he kiosk. We did not have our confirmation number but the machine was able to look us up with our phone number. I did not recall giving any phone number when the ticket was purchased and the machine could not locate the ressie with my home number. I realized I called from my work phone so I entered that number and it worked.

Next we went in the line to convert DH's AP voucher to an actual ticket now that they don't take photos anymore. That line took us over 40minutes!!!! It was the regualr line people used to purchase their tickets to get into the park. Two windows were open and one family was at the one window for the whole time we were in line. We were the next ones in line when they were done. I have no idea what the problem was but everyone was frustrated. I think their may have been a language barrier. I can't stress enough to try to purchase your tickets before you go if possible. All I kept thinking is that I was so glad we decided to take care of this now because I would have been very frustrated standing in line for 40 minutes when that could have been prime morning park time! (Although we always stay on-site and enjoy the FOTL.)

We picked up our AP's at Willcall. That's what we were told to do on our confirmation sheet. It is not the regular line but a special line for APs and problems. There were four tellers with the one line and I waited less than five minutes to get to the front of the line. We got ours at IOA and the willcall is to the far right at about the same area as the normal ticket booths.

We picked up our tickets at a kiosk the first morning. I was worried that it would take a while because the area was packed. However the kiosks were relatively quiet and it only took a few minutes.

Our flight arrives later in the day so we will not be going to the parks that day. However we may go to Margarettaville for dinner that evening. Can we pick-up the tickets that night or will it count as a park visit day? :confused3

As long as the parks are open, the kiosks are open. Since you don't actually gain entrance to the parks to get your tickets, it will not count as a park visit day.

I'm not sure why folks don't just print up the tickets themselves at home..... no confusion, delay, or any questions/concerns that way.

It isn't always an option and you still have to pick up your actual tickets. The ticket you print out is not the little one that you get scanned at the gates.

The tickets I printed up on my home compter for the first week of March were indeed the actual tickets I used. No need to stop anywhere before going through the turnstiles. They have a barcode on them. Maybe printing at home is not an option on all tickets, but it is now an option on the $85 tickets. This may be a recent change, but I think it's here to stay. I was also able to do this for the P&PP at Disney. The wave of the future.

I think you are right that this is a recent change. When I purchased my tickets for my February vacation it wasn't an option and they didn't charge $.99 for them.

It is a good change because many people were buying the tickets for future use and wanted them in hand.
