Question about 40 inch height requirement

This is what I am afraid of. I marked 40 inches on the wall and then had him stand in front of it and marked his height. The two marks were in the exact same place. I am afraid he is going to fall short but a hair.

Did you try any other rides or was Splash the only one?

I don't think we tried any others (maybe one more) because I honestly didn't want to take the chance of waiting in line and then getting remeasured at the front of line and getting turned away. It wasn't important enough as there is so much to go on anyway. And I would much rather not have the disappointment.

We have already told our dd that she can't ride the rides. We are measuring her at 39inches but the dr measured her at 40 this week, so I have no idea.

Does anyone have a picture of the L bar? popcorn::

Last year my DD tried to get on Rockin Roller coaster she went up to the measuring stick wearing her sandals and was turned away. She tried again 2 days later wearing her sneakers and was allowed on. Really didn't matter anyway since she chickened out getting in the car.

We went last summer and our youngest (age 3 at that time) measured in March as 38 inches. I thought for sure it was a lost cause. Turns out he grew at least one inch in the few months before the trip (early June so not too long). At that age kids are constantly growing you never know how much height they can add in just a short period of time. I'd start preparing for the worst just in case but with a few months to go I'm betting you add a little height before summer comes.

I measured him with a tape measure right before we left in his shoes and he was barely over 40 inches and sure enough his head barely grazed the bars every ride but he touched every single one. I'd say they are pretty accurate.

A home-made "practice" bar obviously doesn't have to look like that. We just used a ruler and a yardstick screwed together in an L-shape and strapped around the post of the swingset ladder in the back yard.

Thank you for all the tips. We still told her she can't ride the big rides but it doesn't hurt to practice :thumbsup2

DS was so close a couple a couple years ago. In flip flops or crocs he never made it but with his Nike shox he made it every time, but they did check twice.

If there is something he really wants to ride then head there first thing in the morning if he is close. We really are taller in the morning and if they are close a fraction can make the difference.

:thumbsup2 my 4 and and 5yo at the time were able to go on Rock n Roller Coaster in the morning two time.. when we came back in the evening they didnt pass the height.

We measured our DD before our vacation one year and told her she was too short for Splash etc.

When DH took DS on Star Tours DD asked why she couldn't go too, so I explained she was too small and let her stand at the bar to demonstrate. To my surprise the CM said she was fine and waved her through. DD managed to go on all the rides she wanted that vacation, the only time she had a small problem was at Soarin'

DD stood under the bar and didn't quite make it. The CM told DD to take a deep breath. DD did this and as soon as she did the CM said "Congratulations" and let us through with a smile. DD still takes a deep breath when being measured now, years later.
