I just noticed on the Budget Board a thread about member's being able to refer up to 5 friends for a phone conversation about DVC and both parties receiving a $25 gift card. Is this something you have to have received the postcard to participate in? Is it for members in only certain states? (We're in MN so we aren't eligible for the referral money if someone buys into DVC :sad1:). I have some friends and family that would be interested in hearing this info and I'd love to participate in this if it's possible.

unfortunately, the same referral rules apply, so if you are in a state that does not permit referral rewards you will not be eligible.

There is a thread on the Theme Parks board as well.

I haven't received anything this time, but I always seem to get them late, after everyone has already gotten them :(

My neighbor did this last year...they got their $25 card, but then they also received MY card as well, and had to bring it to me... :confused3 I hope this is not normal. Someone else used my referral, but I didn't receive a second card.

I never seem to get in on these promos, either! I haven't heard anything about this til now. I should get used to it :lmao: Last year with the AP referrals, I only received 4 cards, even though there were 5 of us and sent out 2. I didn't get credit for either...CM said they weren't used. Meanwhile, there were people on these boards who received $100's b/c they received more cards than they were supposed to (at least according to the CM's I spoke to).

Oh well...maybe someday!

Here's what I found about eligible states:

The eligible states are:

Alabama, Arizona*, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois**, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio**, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Puerto Rico is also an eligible jurisdiction.

*Maximum redemption of $600 per calendar year.
**Maximum redemption of $1000 per calendar year.

Note that it is the current member who must live in an eligible state to receive a reward. The residence of the prospective member is not relevant. For example, a member living in Alabama (on the list) will still receive a reward for referring a buyer who lives in Michigan (not on the list.)

I can see Wisconsin from my front porch... if that would only count!

O well that leaves me out...THANKS FOR THE INFO!!!

Not sure where the previous list came from but here the one I found.

"Eligible Jurisdiction" is any jurisdiction that permits rewarding Members for their participation in the Program. Current Eligible Jurisdictions are: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Wisconsin. DVD reserves the right to add or remove Eligible Jurisdictions as business and legal circumstances allow.

Apparently I DID receive the email. I just didn't notice it :(

According to the terms however, I can only get 4 gift cards during the promotion period. I've heard others say 5. I also don't know if this is an extension of the first similar program, or a new one, so I don't know if the one I got last time counts against me or not...

I'm not sure if this $25 gift card promo falls into the annual limit of 5 referrals. You are only allowed 5 full referrals a year (someone that buys into DVC) These $25 things are just a thank you I think. But if 1 of the referrals actually buys then you get I think 200!

Right, I read this as being completely separate from the purchase referrals, the gift card is just for getting someone to take the "tour". Given that I got one last time, I don't know if that means I can get 3 or 4 more this time, since there are no details about what the "promotion" period is exactly.

The $25 gift card was for a "phone tour". They originally mailed them out early last October and there were a few threads on here then about them. Mine stated only 4 referrals on this program and only good for a limited time. I did my 4 and received my 4 gift cards before our Thanksgiving trip. I can't believe it is still going on.

BTW the originally mailing looked like one of those "Buy more points" mailings that I usually throw away. Not sure why I read that one.

I got an email last month reminding me about the "Share The Magic" phone tour. I already had 3 people do it months ago and I got my 3 gift cards a long time ago and I had a 4th person call today!
