We've been to the grand floridian and fell in love with the charm of this hotel. We will be going back to disney in october 2008 and want to do one character dinner. I did some research and really like the menu for this dinner and the kids would love to see Cinderella. Is this a good choice? is the food as good as it looks? Also can someone confirm the characters who will be present? Thank you so much princess:

Food was ok. Cinderella, Prince Charming, Stepmother and Stepsisters were there when we dined end of September 07. It was fun. Probably won't go back for the food, though.

We ate dinner there for the 1st time in Oct. 07. LOVED the characters:dance3: ---NOT impressed with the food selections:upsidedow !

Dined there in December 2007. As others have said -- food selections -- nothing to rave about - some inedible -- kids buffet -- no problem - pizza and mac n cheese.

Characters -- to die for -- Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters - stole the show -- I don't think we have laughed as much in a long time. Worth the character interaction!

hmmm....now the menu is what made want to do it.

Is this what you were served? The salads sound great and the cream of mushroom soup. also the prime rib, pasta , sausage and peppers etc.

Starters - spring mixed greens, Caesar Salad, Dressings, Broccoli Salad with cashews, Greek salad, ambrosia, tomato mozzarella salad, macaroni salad, apple with port vinaigrette, peel and eat shrimp

Soups - cream of mushroom, tomato florentine, and chilled strawberry

Accompaniments - sweet potato and red bliss mashed potatoe, brown gravy, carrot and broccoli medley, sauteed squash with chives, niblet corn

Entrees - Chef's freshly prepared pasta, roasted prime rib of beef, mojo marinated turkey breast, salmon with a caper butter sauce, curry chicken with Israeli couscous, apple chutney stuffed pork loin with apple glaze, portobello raviolis with a pesto cream, mussels in ginger broth, salmon with a dill cream sauce, chicken marsala, cheese lasagna, Italian sausage with peppers, chorizo stuffed pork loin with mango barbeque sauce, vegetable egg rolls, mussels in tomato broth

Children's Corner - chicken nuggets, cheese and macaroni, mini corn dogs, pasta marinara, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, niblet corn, cheese pizza and fresh vegetables

Desserts - apple cobbler, bread pudding, brownies, key lime tarts, linzer torte, rice krispie treats, chocolate chip cookies, lemon cheesecake tart, Edy's Soft Serve Ice Cream

Hi
This looks like the old menu before 1900 PF was renovated. I would like to know what is on the new menu. I've heard they have stations. They're countries and then there is food from that country. Does anyone know what foods are offered at each country? Thanks

When was it renovated/menu changed??? the list is about the same as the one here on DIS it's dated as updated 5/07 I'm just wondering b/c we are eating there too so i hope there's good food!!!!

We were there in Oct 06 & it was a good experience, lots of food selection, quite a bit better than other buffets we'd done.

We did not see the stepmother/sisters, we didnt know they were supposed to be there so didnt miss them but would love to see them next time as we would go again. Our table was too close to the next partys, & service was average not great. Strawberry soup was good!

We have an adr here in April and hope the food is similar to what is listed on the DIS menu.:confused3

I can't remember exactly when it re-opened, but it was closed when we were there in August, 2007. Anything prior to Fall 2007 is old, and no longer accurate.

We had dinner there in August 2006 and it was good. The stepsisters were NOT part of the experience back then - it was Suzy & Perla the mice. Since the remodel I haven't heard anything good about the food, and I haven't heard anything bad about the characters!:rotfl:

Well this explains why we missed them! We will definately book to see them, the pics of them are a hoot!
The food on the other hand.............:confused3 ;)

We also dined there in October 2006 and had a great time - enjoyed both the food and the character interaction. :thumbsup2

At that time, the characters were: Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother and Suzy and Perla. Cinderella and Prince Charming are now being accompanied by Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters. ;)

As for the menu, I was hoping it hadn't changed (or at least not by much) as we would like to go back on our trip this May.

I saw that menu (typos and all) on allears dated 10/07, so I'm guessing it's current.

I'm curious about the food too - we are going here for dinner too.

Isn't there anyone who has been after Fall 2007 that could help us out and let us know what food they have now?

Hi
We were in DW last August 2007 and 1900 PF was closed for renovation. We were disappointed, since we loved it in Aug 2006. I read on one of the threads about the different stations that they now have, and that the food isn't very good. But I've asked before what specifically they have to eat and haven't had any answers yet. The menu on Allears is not current. I wish Deb would get it updated. I'm sure she will. Maybe someone who has been there really recently will give us an update.

We eat dinner there every trip.

In fact, about 10 minutes ago, I just got off the phone with Disney Dining.....made all our ADRs for our summer trip & DD picked that for the night of her b-day! She loves Prince Charming!

Can't wait!

We enjoy both the characters & the food there...never have any complaints!

**Our last dinner was just last month on Christmas Eve. Loved it!!

We are also looking to make adr's here. The menu on allearsnet seems great. I would love to hear a recent review.

Does anyone know if it is hard to get an adr here? We are leaving in a month and a half and just decided to add this restaurant.

I would call right now.
I just got off the phone with Dining Reservations about 10 minutes ago...only had about a 3 minute wait.

I tried calling right before I posted this and the message said they were closed.

Oh I'm sorry.
I think I know what happened....I called right before 10pm & was on the phone with them for 15 or 20 minutes making all our ADRs. I just checked & they CLOSE at 10pm, but must've kept me on because I got to them before 10:00.

Good luck to you tomorrow. :)
