Question about 17 night stay and a 14 day park pass.

We are staying at OKW for 17 nights, but because we knew we wanted at least a couple of days out of WDW to go to Universal, shopping etc, we came up with the cunning plan of booking 17 nights accomodation but only paying for a 14 day ticket. We want to do the non-Disney stuff when we first get there and activate our 14 day tickets so they run out on the day we leave. However as we are staying on site we would normally have one KTTW card. Does anyone know if that is a problem, or does the park pass just activate from the first time you go into a park even though you checked in 3 days earlier and have been using your KTTW card as a room and charge card?

I thought I read a while ago that you can ask for your park pass to be put on a seperate card to your room key. The Disney website just says "14 days from first use" Many thanks

Your 14 day pass will be on your KTTW cards but your 14 days will not be activated until you enter a park (or Disney Quest)
Last year we were at OKW for 16 nights, cruise 7 nights, offsite 2 nights. We activated our 21 day tix 4 days into the holiday so we could use them after the cruise for our last few days. Even though the last 2 days were offsite we could still use the KTTW cards for our 21 day tix.
