Question abot FW, Hurricane and pets...

Maybe this was discussed already, but I looked and couldn't find it.

When Disney had everyone from FW evacuate and stay at a resort, what did campers do with their pets? Did Disney allow them in the resort?

I don't know, but my guess is that they offer free boarding at one of the kennels.

I did read somewhere that they put the pets in a shelter somewhere on property, not sure where though.

Thanks for the responses! I just know I would not want to be separated from my pet overnight during a storm, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do!

I haven't been able to find out this information either. I don't think there's any way the kennels would be able to hold all the pets that are at FW, though.

Maybe somebody returning soon will be able to give us first-hand information. If not, I'll ask in October.

Between the various WDW kennels, I can't imagine they couldn't accomodate all the pets at FW at any given time.

Has anyone seen pictures of the storm damage at Fort Wilderness? I've heard they had more damage than the other resorts.

I drove through it at night, so I didnt get to see much. But I'd imagine there will be a lot less trees in there, and a bit more sunlight than previously! LOL

We'll be at FW this Sunday! They just reopened yesterday........ I can't wait to get there. I'll post a trip report when I return.
