Ok, I need some help with my annual passes..

I got the DVC discount on my annual pass..

My passes expire on Sept. 30th....

We will not be back @ WDW till early Oct.

There is talk that the ticket price is going to increase on Aug. 3rd.

I have a five hundred dollar Disney Gift Card and a five hundred dollar Visa gift card that I want to use toward my annual pass renewal..

QUESTION:::
Is is better to renew my pass before the ticket price increase??

If YES,, how do I renew it and get the DVC discount and have it so my pass does not start now starts when I get to Disney in Oct. or do I have to have the same start date that I have now Sept.??
Also, how do I renew them from home and use my Gift Cards??

THANKS,, For all of the HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Kristin

If you wish to purchase your renewals now, I think you can do so by calling Member Services and get either a voucher or will call number. I don't know if they can use the gift cards over the phone, though.

Wow. I didn't know we can renew our passes months in advance. I learn so much here. Definitely good to know! :thumbsup2

Call MS to renew and see if they will take the gift cards over phone. All renewals start on expiration date of existing AP. What you would get now is a receipt for the tickets, which you pick-up when you get to a a park at guest services.

AWESOME!!!!!! Do you know what number I should call???!!

I did this last year in Aug when price increase was coming with our passes expiring on Oct 25. I did it on line thru the DVC page link....I got an online printable voucher that I exchanged at ticket window when I got to WDW in Oct. but I don't know about using the gift card on line....you could go thru the process and see when payment page comes up.
Does anyone know how much they are going up...

I renewed mine by calling the annual passholder hotline 407 560 7277. I got the DVC discount and was able to use my Disney visa reward points toward the cost.
When I tried to renew thru Member Services they kept telling me my renewal AP voucher would start the day I ordered it, not the date that my AP expired which was 3 months later. That did not make sense to me and I asked her to check with a supervisor. She came back and told me the supervisor said the same thing. I hung up and called the AP hotline and had no trouble.

YIKES! Mine doesn't expire until May, but now I'm wondering if I should go ahead and renew this week. I didn't even think about the AP price going up :rolleyes1 Does anyone remember how much it went up last August?

I thought this was the case too.
But in another post someone said that they purchased 2 sets of renewal vouchers and they are non dated...
So now I'm confused again...

I do not think they even put the applicable renewal date on the voucher. When you turn in a renewal voucher at guest services, you also show them prior passes. They will already have you in the system showing your end date of old passes and renewal date of new ones and ones you actually get will begin on expiration date of prior one (that applies even if you do not show up to actually get renewal passes until after the expiration date on the old pass).

As to question above about phone number to call, I simply called the usual MS phone number but I cannot recall exactly what the process was and I may have been ultimately transfered to the AP line noted above.

Renewals of APs have traditionally started when the prior pass expires. Today, they begin on expiration date of prior pass. Years ago, they began on day after expiration date of prior pass (you effectively gained a day every year).
