Ques about Guest Services/flag ceremony

Is it possible to contact Guest Services before our visit to try to pre-arrange a date for my dh to help with the flag retreat ceremony? Or is this something I have to do in person at Guest Services once I get down there?

I have read comments from people that are staying in a Deluxe resort at the Concierge level, where the Concierge planning CMs were able to pre-arrange participation in the Flag Retreat Ceremony.

So it seems to me that they do pre-book it. Call Guest Services and see how far in advance they can do this. I would not wait, as it seems like a lot of people would like to do this for a spouse or parent that is or was in the service.

Flag retreat is set up through Main Street Operations (and/or Guest Relations). You can call 407-824-2222 and ask to be connected to City Hall at Magic Kingdom (they will ask you why as the operator will try and take care of your needs on the phone) advise the operator that you would like to set up a time for the Flag retreat ceremony and that you were advised to call City Hall directly to do so.

You can set it up for anytime (there is not a limit) as it is written in a book on the date that you request.

If you have any problems with getting it set up, or getting connected to City Hall send me a PM and I will give you a name and number of someone you can contact regarding it

Thanks for the information, LibertyBelle! I was hoping to do this for my father on my next trip as he is a 30 year veteran of the Navy. He is also turning 65 on this trip, so I thought it might be nice to add some special touches here and there on the trip for him. I'll give City Hall a call tomorrow.
