Can anyone tell me if you have to book this restaraunt before hand? I am planning on taking my daughter here for our first meal as soon as we get there possibly around about 2pm, will it be open then and is it likely to be busy.

Hi you arent able to book the rainforest.

Not sure if it is open all day, but if it is im pretty sure you will ok at 2 because most people will be in the parks.

Yes, it's open all day. You'll have no problem at 2pm, you should be able to be seated immediately. :goodvibes

So you can't prebook the Rainforest Cafe? Is that right?
But do you get the Shareholders discount?

Would be great if that was the case :)
Anyone else help?

I'd presume you couldn't as I know that they dont accept AP's for discount.

I love Rainforest Cafe and always go whenever I'm at Disney.

We ate at the Rainforest Cafe during our trip, end of October, and there is definitely no shareholders discount allowed. Same applies to Planet Hollywood and King Ludwig's Castle (and McDonalds).

You can't normally get shareholders discount at the Rainforest but they are doing a special offer for shareholders in the Village Restaurants until the end of December where you get 20% off provided you eat before 6pm so Marcus, make sure you have a late lunch rather than an evening meal! :rotfl:

whats it like trying to get seated at about 6-7.30ish?

It looked quite busy whenever we went past at that time. You should go for a late lunch at about 3 or 4.... :goodvibes Or just lunchtime in general, thats when we went and it was really quiet.

We ate here in the second week of May. Mostly because DS wanted to, we've eaten here and at other Rainforest Cafes and have found them very overpriced. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We had no trouble getting a table, but we were early at 6.15pm. Service was good and they accepted the 20% discount card with no problem. We had the mixed starter and we shouldn't have - very nice but the main course portions were absolutely huge! There was no way we could finish everything. Next time we might even share a main or a main and starter. DH had the prawn and steak kebabs which were on a skewer so big it looked like a sword! I had the trio of taco salads - lovely but just one of them would have been enough! The children's food was fine but fairly average. And of course the 'show' with the rainforest animals and the thunder was entertaining as usual.
Overall a better experience than we were expecting and we would go back.

What types of salads were in your trio of salads? I was quite tempted by that last time!

Having read britchic's post I think I'll go between 6 and 7 and hopefully will get a seat pretty easily.

Can't be haing all that waiting around and drinking cocktails!!!! :-)

Are the lightning glasses any good? I love a novelty cup!

Hmm let me try to remember. They were in 3 different bowl-shaped tacos, and there was a chicken caesar salad, a cobb salad and another one I didn't really fancy which had bits of grapefruit in - or some kind of citrus fruit anyway! I wasn't bothered because I couldn't have eaten them all anyway...
