Me: Sophie (18/19) - 2nd Trip
Scott (30) - 7th Trip, My best friend and housemate
Up and we decide to try out the all-you-can-eat breakfast at Golden Corral this morning. Its good (I especially like the fact the fruit juices are included unlike Ponderosa) but the food isnt especially fantastic.
On our last Universal day we hit the Studios first and then only had time for one or two rides at IOA so today we reverse and do the Islands first. We go anti clockwise beginning with a go on Spiderman (which breaks down with us in the queue trapping us for almost 45 minutes.)
We take some silly photos at the Toon Lagoon after I convince Scott to pose - see the enthusiasm!
We take our time walking through Jurassic Park and The Lost Continent where we try out the Flying Unicorn kids coaster it climbs to an impressive height!
By the time we get around to Seuss Landing its lunchtime so we get lunch of pizza and fries in the Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-pendous. After weve eaten we take a spin on the Cat in the Hat, Scott has his photo taken with the Grinch and I ride the funky Caro-Seuss-El before heading to the Islands of Adventure Trading Company in the Port of Entry to do a spot of shopping.
My sister isnt really into Disney but loves Spiderman so I get her a Spiderman picture frame (Ive already had my photo taken in front of the ride to go in the frame for her) and I get myself a Spidy t-shirt too.
During the afternoon we take in all our favourite rides including Terminator 2, Men in Black, Earthquake, Twister and Shrek. We also ride the Mummy and get my first ride photo where I look absolutely petrified!
As the park begins to close down I take a final few pictures as we walk slowly out. By this point Ive convinced Scott to give the Hard Rock Café a whirl so its a short walk to our destination where we are seated immediately. We both order steaks carved over garlic break with fries absolutely delicious. I also ask if they have any non alcoholic cocktails, the waiter tells me which they have and I order a Strawberry Daiquiri and it is the best drink in all of Orlando, I even order a second despite the price!
After weve eaten I check out the shop. Im about to give up because of the high prices until I spot a fantastic design in the corner. When I check out the label, its been reduced down to $14.99 so I grab it faster that you can blink! Once weve finished looking around we drive down to Downtown Disney to get our souvenir shopping done. We get tons of stuff including pins, clothes, scrapbooking items, home ware, picture frames tons of it. Disney are giving away large park lithographs for $5 if you spend over $75 and (worryingly) we came within a few dollars of qualifying for 3!! We take two of them, deciding to worry later about how on earth to get them home!!
By now its very late so we drive home and unload our bags into the cupboard before hitting the sack.
