Queen or 2 Twins?

This may sound like a stupid question, but I have read that most rooms have 1 queen or 2 twins. How do you know which your room has? If it ends up having 2 twins, what do you have to get the 1 queen? I am guessing that the 2 twins are pushed together, but aren't you able to feel the division? I have always wondered about this. Thanks.

It is my belief, that all rooms have the twins. If they are separated, you can push them together, or have the room steward do this. Usually they are together, depending on how many people are in the room, and what your requests were.

Oh ya, You can certainly feel the division, and roll into it most of the time..

Can you request this ahead of time (making twin beds instead of a queen)? Friends of ours are in connecting rooms and were hoping to put their four kids in one room so that they could have the second room to themselves.

I did not feel the division but I would also not call it a true queen I think its a bit larger but not a king thats just my opinon though....

I do not remember feeling the division in the bed. Well that could be because my DH is 6'4" and he is a bed hog.....let me ask if he felt the division while he was sleeping in the middle of the bed.......

He was so tired that he doesn't remember feeling it! Well, he did say that if you stay on your own side you won't feel it.

You can feel the division, but in my opinion, it is not bothersome.

Yes, you can request the separation of the beds. Not a biggie though... very easy for the steward to do this. We also did this with the connecting rooms, all the kiddos in one... Very good, Very Good.

As for feeling the bed, it is not a big deal really, just that it is there...

Thanks everyone. If it is just my DW and me, it should already be together when we get there, shouldn't it? We didn't ask for it to be 2 twins, so we shall see.

Just had me thinking and the fact that i am 5 feet on a good day, and very petite is probably why I felt the division. My hubby is average sized, so gravity just moves me on over...

I agree with the bed being bigger than your average queen also..

The beds are usually in the queen position (?) sounds weird

This time we are asking for 2 twins since the bump in the middle was driving me nuts! My daughter kept shoving me over into the gap, she hated the feeling of it.

So if it's my husband, myself and our son in a category 11, how would the bed setup be then? Where would my son sleep? Is there a sofa that turns into a bed?

Hi Suzy...

The bed should be set up to its queen postions. Depending on if your room sleeps 3 or 4, there will also be a pull down bed. THis pulls out of the ceiling, and is not out during the day. The couch does make up into a bed also.. The steward will more than likely only prepare this one. IF your ds wants to sleep in the upper berth, just mention it to the room steward, and he will fix it up....

Yes, there is a sofa bed thing for the 3rd person. We also had two twins pushed together. It was annoying, but didn't keep me up at night.

They put a pretty thick mattress over over the ridge, I guess if you are in the habit of both sleeping in the middle of the bed you'd feel it. I'm used to the cat being in between us, so I'm just used to sleep off center!!!!

The cat? Try 4!! I feel your pain. Actually, only 2 are on the bed with us right now...the other 2 are under the bed (thunderstorms!)

All staterooms that say you have a chocie are two twins put together, but you dont know the difference because i belive they give you a queen matress to lay over the two twins (therefore no division) if you dont want the twins. or at least thats what i think...I never got to lay in the big bed 4 my cruise, I just chose top bunk

No, they are not queen matresses. They are indeed 2 twins.

If you don't like the arrangement when you get in your room, just leave a note for your stateroom attendant asking for the arrangement you prefer, and it will magically be that way by bedtime. Also you can specify in the note if you think the attendant might not be making up the pull-down bed or couch because of the number of people you have but someone wants to sleep in them. Last cruise was just my daughter and me and she wanted the couch, so I got the big bed pushed together all to myself!

No way...there is a very noticable lump in the middle where the two beds are just pushed together.
