Well it was interesting working in the hospital during this coverage today, beginning in the middle of the night. Many patients kept the TV coverage on all night in their rooms. Some were awake and invited staff to come in and watch with them if they had a few minutes. It was kind of fun and, like here, quite a few people were really into it! (Have always done this with these UK events and with other things like World Series games and elections such!) At one point in the wee hours I heard some beautiful singing and wasn’t sure where it was coming from so I followed it and found, in the spirit of things, an aide with a lulling voice singing to a lonely patient. (So sweet!)

I wish I could’ve joined in with the discussions here today, but I’ve finally caught up. Thanks @mom2rtk for starting the thread (and trying to keep it open). The sight of Emma, the Queen’s horse, and the corgis got to me, too. Sharing this photo that made me happy of Prince Andrew with the Corgi’s who will now be living with him. (Glad they’ll get to stay in the same area. We just rescued a dog whose owner died and it’s been hard on him, including moving half a country away.) It was also nice seeing Sara Ferguson with her family. She’s been excluded from most of the ceremonies, and I’ve felt kind of bad for Andrew, who, like Harry, also could’ve used some hand-holding during some of the more difficult times. Seeing him walk alone when he has a spouse and others were with theirs didn’t seem quite right. (I wonder if they’ll now remarry at some point.) Overall, they must all be breathing a sigh of relief. Hope they can all sleep well tonight.

I think back to that morning 11 days ago when I was on my early morning walk and listening to the radio as I normally do, and I heard they were "concerned for her health". I got a chill and knew this was likely going to be it. I'm glad we had a place here to all come together and share our feelings about the enormity of it all.

I hope everyone comes back together here when it's time for the Coronation.

Did anybody notice if Lady Sarah Chatto, the Queen’s niece, Margaret’s daughter, was there?

Seated right behind Prince Harry next to her husband and 2 sons. Both her niece and nephew were there as well.

I haven't been able to follow the thread today (I had a dental extraction) but am curious why Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie weren't seated together. It was very nice to see Fergie seated with the family.

I do not mean for this as a sign of disrespect for other leaders, but I would guess it has to do with perceived threat to his safety. The US President, no matter who it is, is a target.

The Secret Service has the power to veto Biden's travel plans if they feel that he would be at an unacceptable level of risk. They essentially said that the only way he can come is if we can protect him in our usual way, and the UK gave permission.

Of course, his 17-vehicle motorcade apparently got stuck in traffic this morning, which made him late for his seating time for the funeral.

Maybe it was just the way the seating chart worked. Looks like Edward &Sophie's children were sat beind them. So that put them between the 2 Princesses & their husbands in that row. With the aisle break in the row it did allow Fergie to sit with one of her Daughter & Son-in-law .

About the pallbearers, apparently 5 of them were stationed in Iraq and flown in the moment the death was announced.

I think, that, after the Queen’s children, the family sat in order of succession, with wives/husband at their side.

Edit. I have looked again and that isn’t correct. There must be some logic to it.

Ok, I am back on the ship and can watch the procession properly .

Just noticed that the Dutch royals were seated opposite Charles, Camilla and other children on the front row. Next to Denmark (?) And Spain(?), didnt know we were that close.

Apparently, Commonwealth leaders were seated first and then Royalty took precedence over world political leaders, which explains Pres. Biden’s position. I think Denmark may have been before Sweden and the Netherlands because their Queen was the first to accede to the throne.

I enjoyed the Queen’s selection of hymns and scripture. It was clear from the sermons of the clergy who knew her that she had a strong Christian faith. Her faith and patriotism were foundations that guided her love of people and her incredible life of dedicated service. She will be missed.

The Polish president is Andrzej Duda. The Bidens were seated behind the Poles, in front of the Czechs, and next to the Swiss.

Some stories insinuate that this was a deliberate snub (“forced to sit in the 14th row behind Poland”), but there was probably just some typically convoluted reasoning for the seating arrangements.
