Just jumping on the King part - is there any other country where that National Anthem changes (Queen to King in this case)?

Not our national anthem, but in the Netherlands we do have a 'long live the Queen' song. When we got a King in 2013, a comedian changed the lyrics. The main issue was that in Dutch King has 2 syllables and Queen has 3. He rewrote the song a bit to include both King and Queen.

Most famous King George was Mad King George who now lives on in Hamilton. So not sure if that would be a better choice.

True but his grandfather was George VI and by all accounts was loved deeply by his family.

The guards at the Tower of London have ER on their tunics for Elizabeth Regina. That will have to change also.

Federal parks here in Canada often have ER in floral displays. Lots of things will have to change even in the Commonwealth countries. Many schools have a portrait of the Queen in the office or hallway for example. See below for example of Canadian national park and the ER2.

I noticed in the picture with the new PM the other day her hands were very blue. It looked to me like she’d had IVs in her hand, possibly getting fluids at her home. She also looked like she lost quite a bit of weight, but her smile was as beautiful as ever.

It is always difficult in these cases what to do with young children. You want them to say goodbye, but also, a dying grandparent is not something you should see at that age.
But Catherine picked the children up herself in the car. It gives me hope that the Queen won't kick the bucket tonight.

I was confused because the last “she” obviously means the Queen, so at first I assumed all the ”she’s” in the sentence meant the Queen. It makes more sense your way (though not really convinced that Catherine picking up the kids reflects on the timing of the Queen’s death).

My mom passed recently. The grand kids were not there when she passed, let alone their spouses. Actually, it was just her children at the time. Our spouses had seen her earlier. Every family is entitled to their own decisions at times like these.

I'm sure she is trying to maintain normalcy for her little ones. Their world is about to absolutely be rocked. And it's their first day of school. They may be royalty but they're still children (and humans!). Who knows, Queen Elizabeth may have expressly wanted them to stay behind - who knows how bad it is and what they don't want the children to see...

Yeah, sorry, I was confusing. I'll update the post.
I think that Catherine picks them up herself says something about her as a mother. They also got rid of their live-in nanny recently. I wonder if the children at school were told about it. Not just the royal children, but the entire school. As the news came in during school hours.

BBC reporting that Harry is on his way there, but that Meghan isn’t going. Suggestion that maybe children are bringing spouses, but grandchildren are coming alone.

Who knows. As said, as a family, they should be able to do what works best for them.
