Quebec - For those of you who live there!

I would like to hire an au pair for the summer months for my 3 boys. Does anyone from Quebec have suggestions on were I can place an ad to hire one? I do not want to go thru an agency as they charge an arm and a leg to do so. I would like this to be a learning experience for my children as well as the au pair. My kids are in French Immersion. I thought about placing ads on University websites in Quebec, or perhaps going thru a school board there. Do you have any other suggestions?
Also, we would like to take the kids to Montreal for a visit. Any suggestions on what we might do or see as a family? I'm going to do some research myself, just thought I would put that question out there.

I don't know about the nanny thing but I can help you out with things to do on your vacation. My favourite place to visit in Montreal is the biodome!!! I wouldn't miss that. The Old Port and Old Montreal are also good places to go with a family, and there are usually clown or puppet shows going on. There is a science center at the old port but I haven't checked it out yet. If you're in town during the Jazz Festival or Comedy Festival, there are lots of free outdoor shows.

I have to put together a package for my out of town guests about various Montreal sights and hotels, so I'll be able to give you more information soon

I'm assuming you're referring to Quebec City? I'd look up which colleges and universities in the area offer Early Childhood Education programs and then contact the schools to post the position you're offering. Also there are government run youth employment centres all over the province so I'm assuming there's one in Quebec City, you could try that as well!

I second the motion about going to the Biodome while you're in Montreal - the kids will love it! Other things to check out are the Ecomuseum, Old Montreal/The Old Port and La Ronde.

Sorry... I thought you meant you were going to Quebec but if you want to hire someone and have them come to Ontario the Montreal schools would be a good place to start - or possibly the cegep in Gatineau which might be closer to where you are. There's a list of cegeps offering ECE here:
