Arrived at BCV rm 312 (Studio) for one night so my 3 year old could enjoy the kiddie slide and pool. Room was clean and worked for us for 1 night. Close to 1st elevators in villas... though would have preferred a room close to parking as I am pregnant and that is a good walk a few times a day!
Enjoyed the pool... like the fact that the pool with the kiddie slide is shallow enough in some areas for dd to walk on her own.
RANT #1:
We had a bunch of kids running down the hall banging on doors. Scared the pants of my daughter but by the time a calmed her down... they were gone. Reported to Front desk.
However while waiting for a boat to go to Boardwalk... a gang of 10 - 12 girls aged 11 - 15 maybe were racing around the lighthouse with wheelchairs not caring about anyone around them. One girl boast " Mom said not to get into any trouble and we are doing this and we've banged on doors...." BINGO!!!
I told her .. them all off good. I said" Oh that was you was it. Well you should know better. There are people hear who pay good money to have a vacation without you being disrespectful and childish. You are old enough to know better and if not, you should be with an adult supervising you. You scared the heck out of my child and I think you all need to grow up and be aware of the fact that you are not the only ones here." One of the girls who wasn't there comes over and says to her friend, "What did she say?" I stated "Your friend just happened to inform me that it was you girls who were banging on the doors.. one of which was mine and NOT appreciated."
Boat came... girls got very quite and sat nowhere near me at all!
A few fellow DVCers said "thank you" for what I said and for standing up to them. I worked with transient youth for years... I am not intimidated and will speak my mind.
MOved to OKW 1 bedroom Building #14 (1437) the next day. PROS: Across the road from Hospitality HOuse and main pool. Close to buses. Nice room. Love being able to park car @ door.
CONS
RANT#2) Very noisey... heard every truck and car all night long. No for light sleepers! 3 floor room no elevator... not good for Ms. Preggo here.
Ended up getting a room switch the next day. Another 1 bedroom (4311) in Building 43.
PROS: Close to Turtle Pond Pool and Snack Bar. Playground and pool. Quiet with a nice water view. have car so not really an issue with buses. Car parked at door.
CONS: Took bus once and there were other folks complaining about the bus service being slow this week. There is a random clanking noise in the master bath that happens all night long. Have NO idea where it is coming from though.
Weather has been a bit weird. Very grey and overcast.... rain every day so far... though beautiful blue skies and sunshine this afternoon!
2 More days to go. Flight home @ 7:20 on the 22nd.
