Can anyone tell me IF there is an arcade and does my son need lots and lots of quarters (he says he does) or do they handle it some other way? Thanks so much.
Karen

Yes there is a small arcade and they don't accept quarters. You us a card for all the games that you can recharge using your KTTW card.

Exactly--you buy a $10 arcade card, and can then choose to recharge it or not. There is no cash accepted anywhere on the ship except as tips.

How old is your son? His age might depend on whether or not you will allow him to use his KTTW card to buy arcade cards. On our cruise some young kids racked up about $50-60 worth of charges in the arcade in a short amount of time. The parents did not know they were buying cards with the KTTW card--the kids watched others do it, then used their cards the same way. Needless to say, the charging privileges were taken off!

You can decide whether or not your son has charging privileges. You might find it easier if he is younger to take these off and then provide him with arcade cards. They can go thru a $10 card very quickly!

Quarters are pretty useless at "Quartermaster's", 'cause.... the games are a lot more expensive than quarters. DO take the charge priviledge off your kids' cards. We used the Quartermasters as a great hook for good behavior. And do not put the cards anywhere near your KTTW card, they demagnitize.

Thank you all for the info. Sure does make it easier. No charging privledges for the DS - he already thinks "everything" is FREE. :bounce:
Thanks again,
Karen
