I haven't traveled by airplane for at least 16 years. Will there be any issuses if I bring along pennies and quarters in my checked luggage of should it be in my carry on? It's not rolled but in baggies. Thanks for any advise!

Dont think they press pennies at Disneyland anymore but I could be wrong. I think my kids have some pressed quarters around.

There are LOTS of coin pressing machines...Pennies, Nickles and Quaraters.

I can't imagine having a problem with having US Currency in your carryon. That would be just a little over the top...IMHO

Not sure of the OP's original question about where to put in the luggage; we've got ours in the Mini M&M tubes (stacked 2 quarters then 1 penny, etc.)
There are a bunch (50 perhaps?) of 50th anniversary penny presses throughout the park. I'm not sure how long they'll keep them around, with the 50th celebration ending Oct. 2nd.

We're not going to try to get all of them on our September trip, just ones that have our favorite characters. :)

There shouldn't be any issues with you checking bags with rolled coins (or even loose in M & M tubes, baggies, etc.).

We're leaving for our first DL trip this Saturday and I'm planning on getting two sets of the 50th anniversary pennies. With so much change, I'll be carrying it with me--don't want to have $51 taken from my checked bags!

There is a complete listing of the 51 anniversary pennies available at http://psc.disney.go.com/eventservices/disneygallery/dlpennypress.html

In the Penny Aracde on Main St. they have some new coins. They are about $1 each and are big silver pressed coins of Stitch and Tinkerbell. I got some for my little sister, since she started collecting the pressed pennies. She saw the Stitch ones I gave her and her eyes bugged-out and her jaw dropped and she said: "WOAHH MAMA!!!" LOL! :rotfl:

This is what we do as well it's like they made them for us to use for pressed pennies. 2 tubes equal about 1 roll of pennies and 2 rolls for quarters.

Little tip about flying with the M&M tubesof quarters- my mom was stopped at security. When they scanned her bag, all they saw was a small solid cylander. I don't know if they thought it was a billy club, or if it was concealing something else!

I just throw ours in with our toiletries( checked bags ) If they want them they can have them It really doesn't show in the back area scanners and that where most airport theft occurs.

But you make a good point bag them then transfer them to the M&M's before you go to the park.

Hey you could even eat the Mini's on the plane and kill two birds with one stone.
