Happy Sunday, everyone :)

I finished watching Cherished Memories last night, the sequel to Aidan and Darcy's first Christmas movie, A Gift to Remember, on Hallmark. Still love Bailey the dog and Aidan is so handsome! A bit predictable in story, at times the acting felt a little forced (like the actor was literally reading a line) but I really enjoyed the sweetness.

After 20+ years of my Dad living in this building, the owner suddenly had a front security gate installed on Friday. In years past, he (and former owners) had claimed this could not be done because the building next to us is so close. New gate is great. Just a couple problems: the code does not always work for one. And second because it is not part of an intercom system (where each apartment has an intercom unit inside) there's now no way for packages to be delivered! Yesterday, Amazon was so kind to call us when they had arrived so Dad could meet the driver at the gate.

I did call our local Old Navy store yesterday to ask them directly how the Super Cash promotion works. The person who answered the phone clearly told me I was right. For example, if in store I had exactly $50 (before tax) in clothes and one single $20 Super Cash coupon (Super Cash codes can't be combined in one transaction), my total would be $30+tax. On Old Navy's website, the $20 discount is still being reflected in lower item pricing but not as an overall $20 discount! So technically yes it is taking off $20 but it's not really doing so if that makes any sense. We will try dealing with customer service again tomorrow. Minor issue just annoying lol.

Hugs and love to all of you :)

Why can't businesses make promotions straight forward?!

My theory is so people don't bother to figure it out and don't end up using it at all. 🙁

I hope they get the new gate and intercom straightened out for you.

Glad to hear about the rehab move, Lynn, and all the pics everyone posted are great!

DS is sleeping now, but was able to keep some more food down this morning. I hope it means things are looking up.

Having a lazy afternoon.

Went to church this morning, which was nice. More people attending. Came home, and because it is only 75, we mowing the grass. Don't usually like to cut it on Sunday but it was getting long and it is supposed to get hot again next week. Now all I want to do is good off and read my book.

PollyannaMom I hope your DS continues to improve.
lynxstch Glad to hear your DH got to the PT floor.

Another cloudy rainy day here. July has been a rainy, rainy month so far and I want to see some sun.

Jasper's eyes are looking better. He seems more energetic and feisty. Although this morning he slept in probably due to the thunderstorms last night. We had some big booms so it probably woke him up here and there. I know I did not sleep well. He has 2 vet appointments this week, one with his usual vet for a follow up with his eyes and one with the internist at the referral animal hospital for his COPD, blood pressure, and kidney issues. I am going to talk with this vet about Jasper's meds and see if he still needs to be on the same doses or if they can be lowered. I get concerned mainly about the theophylline for his COPD. The other meds have already been lowered and seem to have him stable.

We celebrated our 45th anniversary yesterday. We went out for pizza and salad. It is our tradition as we had pizza for our wedding night supper. We had a lunch time reception when he got married. I can't believe how young I was when we got married. I had friends who got married at 19 so they were younger than me by a year. I am glad my kids waited until they finished their education and were settled in the jobs and were in their 20's. That is my advice for young women and young men these days. DH was out of college and had been working in a good job for 2 years before we got married. I went to school part time and worked.

Happy Sunday.

Happy Anniversary Snowysmom!

We haven't celebrated our anniversary, #40, yet. We've got reservations at Four Winds in September with one of DH's brothers and his wife. It's become sort of a tradition with them, usually go in early July but September will be good too. It's a white table cloth sort of place in an old house way out in the country where dinner will last at least two hours. We'll probably consider that our anniversary dinner.

Speaking of what you had for your wedding night supper, we ate at Texas Land and Cattle. We had told all of DH's family to meet us there that evening for dinner and no one showed. Little did we know that the reason was two of his brothers and younger sister were giving the neighbors a show out on the parents front lawn, came to almost fisticuffs between the brothers and sister was very vocal. Parents were at odds with each other also. Lots more details that would explain it better but not going to get into it, looking back it's just stupid stuff, fortunately it happened after the reception was over and everyone was home. I'm just glad that we were not a part of it.

Went to church this morning, then a trip to Costco for golf cart batteries. Picked up a rotisserie chicken, salmon meal ready to bake, some thin cut ribeyes (those are hard to find there, and cantaloupes. Deboned the chicken for meals later this week, getting ready to do some laundry since I slept all afternoon yesterday. I'd really like to take a nap now but am going to try bear through it. My sleep cycle is all messed up. I used to jump up at the crack of dawn with so much energy ready to start my day. Now I just want to stay up really, really late and sleep in.

Dinner later today will be steak and probably baked potatoes with something else, not sure yet.

Ya'll have a good day!

Enjoy some down time, Carol! :)

:cheer2:Congratulations to you and your DH on your 45th Anniversary, Snowysmom! Hugs and prayers you enjoy many more healthy, happy, post pandemic years together! Always Jasper love and prayers, too. Great advice.

Happy upcoming Anniversary to you and tour DH, Kirby! I hope you enjoy a good night's rest tonight, my friend :)

Its so nice out today. .82 and sunny, nice breeze. I am so glad I got all the yard work done, so I didn't have to bother with it. Doesn't look like any of the neighbors took advantage of today's weather, as ours is the only one that looks neat, lol!

Hubby is settled on the rehab floor. All rooms are private rooms, so that made him happy. They are ordering him a Dolphin mattress for tomorrow, as the care that 'high level' took in cleaning him up, wasn't high level and he has a couple of sores they are trying to make him more comfortable with. He was supposed to have OT today, but noone ever showed up this morning. This afternoon 3 PT people came in and checked out his arm, leg, etc. They don't want him using his bad arm to help lift himself..so they helped him and put a support on top of the walker for him to lean that arm on for now. He was a little shaky the first time, but the second and third time they got him up, he was able to stand for a little longer each time. Tomorrow full staff is back and the real work will begin. He says he's ready, so I hope so! They are going to take his breathing issues into account, as well as the swollen leg. But I had brought his slippers that have a velcro closure across the top and they got him on both feet with no problems..so that is a big help!

He was tired after they left, and fell asleep almost right away. I had to wake him up just to say I was leaving, and he fell right back asleep again. But then again, he only got about 4 hours of sleep last nite.

I came home and took a nap. Am going to cook the fresh corn, fresh squash, and have a hot dog and garden tomato for dinner.

Happy anniversary, @Snowysmom!

Our wedding night dinner was at buffet at the Rainbow hotel in Reno (it's been either renamed or closed down now). They had a great buffet; crab legs, and lobster puffs, prime rib, and all the other good stuff; and the best cream puffs we have ever had.

We will be celebrating our 22nd next month. We are going to a restaurant ( III Forks ) here that has 42 day aged Prime and Waygu beef; DH picked it. I'm hoping for our 25th to go to V&A.

DH is out with DS, teaching him how to drive. DS has some issues with trying new things, so, although he took driver's ed in 10th grade (online), he hasn't felt secure enough to drive until now. He applied for a couple of jobs online (Publix and..somewhere else I can't remember), and he shaved his "Shaggy" mustache and beard so he could go apply in person other places. He didn't actually make it to any place else to apply (his nerves got the best of him) but at least he tried. I'm so proud of him. He wants to postpone college for a year or two, and just work on getting himself to the place he wants to be. We said that was fine (and who knows, by then he might have 2 free years of community college :dogdance:) but that he has to work and not just sit home playing video games.

DD#2 and family made it back to Japan in one piece. She's sick (she gets sick every time she flies). Their cat missed them horribly; he meowed for like 4 hours when they got back.

Oh OH I hit the 25 lb loss mark (again). I had gained 1.5 lbs back the week after WDW because I was exhausted and unable to function, so didn't exercise or watch my food intake too much. Last week, I dropped 4 lbs, which put me at the 25 mark again. Another 105 lbs to go, until I'm back at the weight I was after having DD#2.

((huggles)) to y'all.

:hug:Right back to you, B&B. Your "huggles" term always makes me smile. Prayers for your DS and good for him! Community college really is such a smart way to go. Looking back, I wish I had done that rather than jump right into an expensive university that I was not ready for. I also was never told by any HS teacher or guidance counselor (although to be fair, I also didn't investigate on my own) that there are so many GE classes that all undergraduates have to take. Absolutely would have been better off going to Community college, having a true opportunity without the big cost to think about what I wanted to major in and get some work experience as well. I wish you and your DH a Happy upcoming Anniversary, too. Hope your kitty settles in and feels better :)

:cheer2:B&B and Kirby! You both are doing great with your dedication to weight loss.

Word of warning for your own health: Don't ever order on Old Navy.com! Not worth the hassle. The prices advertised on their on website do not match the price that ends up showing in your cart regardless of whether you are logged into an online account or not! All of you know, I don't do deception and there's no other word for this :(

Good evening friends!

Dog days of summer are here, the cicadas are singing away...........

Bianca and Bernard, you are doing much better than I am on your weight loss journey. I am in a period of doldrum that I need to pull myself out of.

Poor you..we just got rid of the cicada's and I do not miss them one bit. We had the 17 year ones..and that is about 17 years too soon,,!

Good morning all, another week starts. I was in bed by 9 last nite, but then stepdaughter decides to start texting me, instead of calling me and talking for 5 min, I had to sit there and type back for 15. I was finally getting so sleepy, I told her goodnite and off to sleep I went. Slept solid till almost 1:30, then tossed an turned for an hour or so. Then back to sleep till almost 4, so at least I got some! Hubby is apprehensive (as am I) about the first full day of PT/OT (they do a total of 3 hours a day, but he can rest in between or as much as he needs). He thinks he has to prove he can do everything all at once, when both I and they keep telling him, it will be a little at a time--so wish us luck!

63 out now, not too bad, but going back near 90's again starting today, that one nice day was a welcome break though!

Have a nice morning, hugs and prayers to all of you who need them~~

C'mon Kirby, you've got this! Grab some headphones, put on some moving music (nothing gets my blood moving faster than some beats!

I did not want to walk today at all. But I made myself follow my prewalk routine (drink 20 oz water; get dressed; get rid of that 20oz of water; put on Anti-Monkey Butt powder-ladies edition-to stop all the thigh and under boob chafing; get my moisture wicking towel hooked on the shirt/bra; get my shoes on; fill my walking bottle with gatorade/ice mix; put on the neck fan and my headphones; flip on bluetooth and location on my phone; and then it's go go go! Once I was about 1000 steps in, I went from warm up music to some serious beats, and got another 4K steps in before stopping.

Couldn't do the full walk today; taking DH to carespot. He cut his hand on the a/c radiator fins last week, and it got infected. He went on Friday, and they gave him antibiotics, but his hand is still swelling and he isn't feeling well, so back he goes. He couldn't work today anyways, because the IT at his job have been updating the servers over the weekend, and they still aren't done, so no work for anyone.

Anyways, here's my warm up/cooldown and walking playlist, if you need ideas:

Good Monday morning to you all. Haven't posted a whole lot lately, tried to keep up with reading the posts though.

My dad refused to get a tree until Christmas Eve

I feel your pain, my father was a stickler for not putting the tree up until Christmas Eve. As a boy Santa brought the tree AND decorated it. At least we got to decorate it :lmao: Usually he would bring it home the week prior and it would be out on the porch, taunting us. My husbands family was the opposite - that tree went up the afternoon of Thanksgiving! So when we got married we compromised and we ended up putting the tree up about a week before Christmas, usually the Sunday before.

DS is sleeping now, but was able to keep some more food down this morning. I hope it means things are looking up.

Glad is is feeling better, hope he continues to do so.

Now all I want to do is good off and read my book.

Oh! I indulged in a bit of that myself Saturday afternoon. FINALLY getting around to reading a book I've had for a while but hadn't started yet. It's really good so far -

We celebrated our 45th anniversary yesterday

Congratulations! We are at 28 years ourselves this August. To this day I'm still not sure what in the world I was thinking of, it was so dang hot! And we had a outside reception!

Hubby is settled on the rehab floor.

Goodgoodgood! Glad that got resolved properly.

I told her goodnite and off to sleep I went

I'm not sure how to do it, but I know a lot of cell phones have a function that will allow you to only be notified of calls/texts from specific contacts. Perhaps that will help you get a better nights sleep? I am a firm believer in phone off and not in bedroom w/ me. ---Maybe you can program your phone to only allow calls from him or the hospital to come thru. It's ashame you have to deal with texts and calls of a non emergency type when you need the sleep! --My husband - not so much. I love it when he gets work texts and calls at 4:30:guilty:, or worse one of his trail cams sends him a photos in the middle of the night. My insomnia is rough, so getting woken up when I'm actually asleep really keeps me from being able to get to sleep. He's changed his notifications to not allow these to come thru but sometimes they still do.

Not much to report. It’s supposed to be hot and humid all week in my neck of the woods

Same here. Yesterday it was SO NICE here in MD, humidity was low, there was a breeze, and temps were around 80 or so. It was just so nice! But back to hot & humid this week.

Anyways, here's my warm up/cooldown and walking playlist, if you need ideas:

Hey! That looks somewhat similar to mine!
I need to get back to walking. I need to get back to several things. There is something about Sept. that just puts a spring in my step in terms of getting moving again, I think it's leftover school starting inertia even though I haven't had a kid starting school in several years.

Dinner will be a cottage pie I've had in the freezer. I've got an appt. with my acupuncturist this afternoon - first time in over a year and I really am needing it. So glad she's able to see patients again. I've got two meetings tomorrow, and another appt. Friday afternoon. BIL & family coming over for dinner Sunday, and it's looking like my husband will be going to put up hay Thursday - Sunday in western MD. I think I'm going to fully enjoy a bit of by myself time Friday afternoon & Saturday. Just a good solid 24 hours of quiet, should be good for some of the house keeping chores - specifically clearing out the guest rooms - I've been putting off.

Have a good day everyone!

Good morning.

Haven't posted a whole lot lately, tried to keep up with reading the posts though.
Same goes for me. No excuse, just lazy.

Yesterday it was SO NICE here in MD, humidity was low, there was a breeze, and temps were around 80 or so. It was just so nice! But back to hot & humid this week.
Ditto again. Had the windows all open and AC off. Thanks, @easyas123 for helping me write my post.

the cicadas are singing away.
Here as well. These are the usual summer ones that sing before a really hot day.

We celebrated our 45th anniversary yesterday.
Congratulations!

I hit the 25 lb loss mark (again)
Good job!

Hubby is apprehensive (as am I) about the first full day of PT/OT (they do a total of 3 hours a day, but he can rest in between or as much as he needs).
They will work with him at his level of function. If that means arm weights or leg weights, as long as he participates and tries they won't ask him to do anything they don't feel he could achieve.

Today I am doing chores like laundry and booking some more hotel rooms before lunch. I am prepping myself mentally to go dress shopping this afternoon. This family wedding, my only brother's only daughter and my God child, is a BIG deal. I was going to wear a previously worn but appropriate dress. Yesterday DDIL send a picture of the new dress she got. DD has ordered no less than 10 dresses online to try on at home and return all but two (rehearsal and wedding). She must have over $1500 of dresses on her credit card. They both had to shop because their sizes changed but I now feel the need to get a new dress. I HATE shopping. So DH and I are heading to the mall today. Wish me luck. @easyas123, want to come to Christiana and help me chose?

Good morning everyone,

July is already half over yet feels timeless, too. Sadly here in LA, the Delta variant is just raging :( I had really hoped a month ago that it might be possible at this time for me to get a haircut. Not happening now. But there's always my dad, the hairdresser :D I do know what matters is that no matter what God indeed has this and each of us. I am so Blessed beyond indeed. Just like all of you wish this plague were over.

My car is 5 years old today! The outside is a disaster (being parked outside on the street) but the inside is still like new, not many miles on it at all. Definitely such a Blessing, too. It's a Versa.

I haven't watched worship from yesterday yet but will later and as always looking forward to doing so.

Wishing all of you joy this day and always :)
