Please HELP. We have reserved a 2 bedroom suites that sleeps 10. We will be there 06/16-06/22/03. This is a large group and this was the only place that had a suite for us all with a great rate of $149.00 per night. I have read some good and bad things on this board about this hotel.

Has anyone stayed here recently?
How are the rooms? Clean?

Any help would be appreciated.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom there in March 2002. We were pleased with it. The only reason we didn't go back there in November was that we got a better rate next door at the Days Suites.

The suite was nice and clean. The service was fine. We thought the breakfast buffet wasn't laid out particularly well, though the food was fine. I suggest getting down there early as possible and taking the food back to your room. The space they have the breakfast in is much too small for the volume of guests.

Only other problem we had was we were on a non-smoking floor. The people in the suite next to us thought that meant it was okay to stand outside the room (and outside our door) and smoke - we didn't agree.

Have a good time. And if you are up early one morning, look out over your balcony and you may see the hot air balloons rising off in the distance. It was really a pretty site when we were there.

I just checked the rates for that week at the Days Suites. Their 2-bedroom only sleeps 8, so you would need 2 1-bedrooms. But, a 1-bedroom is only $67.95 and includes some free ride tickets for Old Town. They also have a special for $94.95/nite that inlcudes unlimited ride passes for Old Town.

You can check them out at www.thhotels.com. Also, check the rates for the same location at www.daysinn.com. Sometimes, the rates are cheaper at that site.

Steve

P.S. The Days Suites doesn't include breakfast so factor that into your budget.

Stay as far away from that Days Suites as you can. It's a dump.
Not only is it dirty and run down, they make you rent dishes and silverware and they don't provide soap and shampoo. Stay away.

EpcotBill,
I don't know when you were last there. We spent a week there in November 2002 and thought it was just fine for the price. It is an old property and shows some wear and tear, but the people were very nice and a couple of minor problems we had were corrected within minutes of reporting them.

You do have to rent kitchenware. We usually drive down so we pack our own stuff. As for soap and shampoo, we always bring our own no matter where we are staying because we like our own brands, but they did provide the usual hotel size packages in the room.

We found the room to be clean and the grounds also clean and well-maintained. Considering the very generous size of the suite, we thought the $39.95/nite we paid was a huge bargain. For anyone looking for plenty of space at a very reasonable price, I stand by my recommendation.

Steve, I stayed there 4 years ago for a few days before checking in at Fort Wilderness. Unless they've done a total rehab since then, I can't imagine it being anything but awful. I've read reviews of the place since I've been there and most of them are negative. I'd be very wary of a suite for under $40 per night. I'm glad you enjoyed the place Steve, for you that's all that matters. I didn't mean to offend, but we'll never stay there again.

Back on topic, I've never stayed at the Quality Suites, so I can't comment from personal experience. But I understand a lot of people like the place.

We stayed there in 1996, and it was a dump then. Would not recommend that dump or stay there again if it were free. My son was 19 months at the time and just from him walking around the room his feet were filthy, like he'd been outside all day barefoot.

They don't tell you that the dishes are for rent not free, like myself and probably everyone else thinks.

Too bad the rooms aren't as nice and clean as the lobby was. It was spotless.

Sleep in your car, van, what ever. Do not stay there.

Sorry, I didn't say above in my post, I was talking about the Days Suites.

Thank god!!!!!!I was about to call and cancel...

Anyone stay here recently?

MELCHOR88 - I just wanted to be clear. The comments I made in my first post in this thread were referring to the Quality Suites. We were there March 2002. My later posts were about the Days Suites.

I checked some dates recently and the suite that sleeps 10 could be had for $107 a night. You may want to get online and verify you have the best possible rate.

Realize that sleeping 10 is alot of people. You will have two bathrooms. Each bedroom will have 2 double beds and 2 people will have to sleep on the sofa bed.

I stayed at the Quality Inn Suites a few years ago and found it to be very adequate. The room was cleaned daily. It was not luxurious but very serviceable. Having a fridge and micro were nice perks.
