Hi,
sounds a bit like a prison doesn't it?
I believe the QIP Int. Drive. has "blocks" around a central reception/restaurant area.

If anyones stayed there before and can give a heads up on the best block to stay in, in terms of traffic noice, access to amenities etc., I would appreciate it.

Going next Thursday, in total excitement meltdown !!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

thanks

When we went there back in 2001 we were in the tallest block nearest the reception building. Our room looked up I-Drive towards Race Rock.

Judging by the number of Brits in this pool, I got the impression that this first block is where most Brits are allocated.

We had no problem with road noise, although on the other side of the block it overlooks one of the pools - this was noisy, even quite late at night.

We tried the restaurant for breakfast once - and then didn't bother again! You get much better food and value for money eating outside the hotel - there is a Sizzler and a Pizza Hut close by and just a little way up I-Dirve there is a Tony Romas and a Ponderosa :)

The Pointe shoppinig mall is just over the road too.

To get around, try the I-Ride Trolley Bus. You can get a 7 day unlimited travel ticket from the hotel for around $7 each. The trolley runs the whole length of I-Drive, right down to the Premium Outlets Mall and Seaworld :)

Ask for a room overlooking I-Drive - the other side is very loud! As you look at reception we were on the ground floor on the left hand side - it was overlooking the car park, only a few steps from the shop, pool and kids play area. Very europian (sp?) at night - we use to sit outside by the shop and hubby would have a pint :thumbsup2

thanks,
if you have any other tips about the accomm. or area please pass them on. thanks

Hi there we stayed in the block furthest away from the reception area, it is quite a walk to the front of the hotel as it is quite a big place. Pools were great and they have a salt water pool which was fab! The pools are spread throughout the blocks so were never too busy when we were there last july.
It is a good hotel, shame pointe orlando is virtually shut down across the road, they had some good shops there before it closed although there are still a few remaining as well as jonny rockets!
Hope this is of some help to you. :tinker: :stitch: :maleficen :sulley: :ccat:
