Were booked to stay here on our next visit, the price from Travel City Direct in May made me fall off my chair !! (found them in the 2004 guide :) ) , i snapped it up but have since read reviews that it is dirty, run down and very noisy! I understand that this is a budget hotel and i shouldnt compare it to my previous stays in places such as the Wyndham and All star Sports, but i thought all US hotels were at least clean and well kept.

Anyone able to put my mind at ease or confirm my fears?

We stayed at the Quality Inn Plaza in Sep/Oct this year and although a budget hotel would not say it was either dirty or noisy.

The cleaners did the room every day and left it in good order, and the only noisy thing was the AC unit, which was a bit too noisy for me to sleep with on - although I am quite a light sleeper. Other than that I noticed no discernable noise at all.

The location is very handy - being right oppposite Pointe Orlando containing a few shops, eateries and clubs. Also right on your doorstep is a Pizza Hut and Sizzler(excellent value for money).

The rooms are slightly old looking, but are fine.

Hope this helps,

Sebastian

Thanks for the feedback :)

i do notice that a lot of the bad reviews come from our american cousins.
Their standards are probably much higher as they havnt experienced a week camping at great yarmouth when they were 8, after which everything else is 2 weeks at the Grand Floridian !

we've bee twise and are going again at new year its a great place central and easy to find ,if by chance the room isn't what youd expected ,go back down and ask for another !! Im sure you'll enjoy it and your holiday

Once was enough for me!!

Yes I live in the UK but I am used to staying in good hotels, this was some time ago and was a last minute booking.
I would have been happy with a clean comfortable room.
I realise some people like this hotel but when we went it was not as clean as I would like it, in fact the windows (ground floor) were really dirty!!
Staff were not the friendliest in the world either.

Things do change so maybe you should take the view of a recent visitor as above, it just put us off for life!!!

Stayed there three times in the past, cannot complain, its better than a lot of Spanish hotels i have stopped in, its probably getting a bit old now, and i have not stayed there recently as i find i Drive a pain in the neck these days, much too much traffic, i first stayed on I Drive in 1982 you could walk down beside the road in those days and not have a car pass you for fifeteen minutes.

We stayed here, In july this year for 2weeks.
It wasnt a bad hotel, the rooms was clean, everything worked ok, the a/c was fine alittle noisy the only thing i didnt like was we asked for a pool side room, we got room 2244 which is 2nd floor over the middle pool, it was noisy esp cars on the highway etc.
And it was busy (but we went peak time), the pools was busy etc.

Overall it wasnt a bad hotel, i prefered QII :) to be honest.

Have a nice time, Beth

Hello,

I stayed there mid OCT this year and found it to be OK. The room was a slightly worn and in need of decoration and the Air con a bit noisey. You need to be careful you dont get a room on the interstate side cos of traffic noise. Apart from that I wasn't that bothered as I only need it to sleep in so it just needs to be clean and safe and in a good locatation which it was. Staff were very friendly in the shop etc

Darren.

Staying there in June 2004, you get what you pay for, 2 weeks, car and flight £1916. I am not expecting too much, a bog standard clean room with air con and tv.

I think the thing to remember about the QIP is that it is a big, budget standard hotel in a busy location, and there is more likely to be uneven service and the occasional sub-standard room in need of refurbishing. This is where I first stayed in 1993, and it was pretty unremarkable even then. With an extra 10 years of wear and tear, I think you can assume there will be a few frayed edges, but, if you do think you have a got a poor room, you can always ask to move to another. Try to avoid the rooms at the back of the hotel if possible as these are likely to be noisiest, with I4 just over the fence.
