i have booked for october to go back to Quality Inn International, where we have stayed before and although basic (and a couple of cockroaches!!) we love the location so have re-booked. However, have just priced up on the internet the Enclave suites which look in the brochure a better quality of hotel (although Virgin have rated them both the same) and not far from QII and is only about 100 quid more expensive. There will be just me and DH so only require a studio but like a fridge which QII has and ES have got kitchen - has anybody been to both and also does anybody know if Virgin would charge me to change the hotel?

Cockroaches!!!! How could you go back to anywhere which has cockroaches!

Virgin MAY charge an admin fee of £25, or £25 per person according to their useless Indian Call centre customer service. I would not call, but email. The email operators seem much smarter. If you have only booked recently, an asmin charge may be ignored. But I am finding Virgin just a little bit more hassle free these days

I have stayed in QII and although OK it definitely looked a bit tired. I decided on the south side of the Drive for our next trip in 2004 and WOW what a difference in our hotel! We stayed in Homewood Suites costing £54 a night and with a fantastic bedroom and living room and kitchen. It also had a free breakfast buffet and food in the evening 4 times per week. The only problem is that Virgin dont do this hotel! :(
I dont know what Enclave Suites are like so sorry, I cant advise you there.

I have heard that usually Virgin don't charge an admin fee if the overall price of your holiday increases - but they almost always put a fee on (£25 per person) if the cost goes down.

It can't hurt to ask them anyyway :)

Enclave suites are not supposed to be brilliant to be honest from what I've heard (I work in a travel agents). Have a look on tripadvisor for reviews. You might be as well staying where you are.

Hiya Julia Ann,

We are booked for the Enclave suites in June. Friends who went last year said it was good. Clean but decor was a bit tired. Fantastic location too.
Another friend is off there in just under 2 weeks - can let you know what they say when they get back?
However in your case I'd honestly be tempted to stick with what you know. It'd be awful to change and then regret it.

Hi,

I've stayed at both the Quality Inn International and Plaza. As far as budget hotels go both were very good. Rooms were very clean and tidy, food not too bad but a bit on the pricey size. Their are buffet resturants all around the hotel, so you can save money by going to them.

The pools are very very busy and small. If your happy with cheap and cheerful go for this hotel. Quality inn international has a good location right in the middle of I-drive. If you don't have a car the bus stop to most places are outside the hotel. :earsboy:

You'll have a great time. Maureen4200040

I think you will find that "coackroaches" are actually "palmettos" which are a native bug in FLorida and come in form the outside. They are large and brown and look like cockroaches. There is nothing much can be done about them - like the lizards and snakes that you can also find in your hotel room, on the path ourside etc.etc. We experienced these bugs last time we went - they even showed up on property!!!!!

hiya

my sisterstayed at the enclave suites with her family (dh, dd6 dd7) in june last year, and had to be moved after a week, because the place was dirty, litter in the pool, plus two girls were attacked there while they were there by a staff member.
plus there is a go cart park right next door to the enclave suites which she sadi was very noisy until well after 1am

it was a nightmare.

I really like quality inn international and have stayed there about 3 times, yes its true it was looking tired, but I thought it had recently had a re hab?

we have been going to the quality inn internatinal for 4 years running now and we love it there!!!!!!

I wouldn't recommend either of those hotels that you mentioned. I have not been impressed with either one. A better choice on I-drive would be the La Quinta on Jamacian (spelling?) ct, the Embassy Suites on I-drive, or the Staybridge Suites on I-drive. If you have any questions about any of these hotels, please feel free to ask.
