Hi everyone.

Just a quick question for anyone who has stayed at the above hotel - we understand they offer free shuttle buses to Sea World, Universal and Wet 'n' Wild.

How do we get to WDW though?? And how much does it cost?

I read on a thread somewhere (cant find it now) that we could take the free shuttle to Sea World, then get a bus to WDW.

Anybody have any ideas on this??

Thanks.

Hey,

I stayed there last march.

it $13 for a round trip (i think) to Walt Disney World. I think that it only goes to Epcot and Magic Kingdom. You will have to double check. But it defiantly goes to Walt Disney World.

Have fun!

We've just come back from staying at Quality Inn International.

The hotel offer, as julieann said, a bus costing $12 each. This left the hotel at 8:45 am.

We used the I-trolleys as far as the stop just b4 seaworld, cross the road and then get a Lynx 50 which takes you to the Ticket and Transportation Center from there you can use Disney transport for free to whichever park you intend to visit.

We bought 7 day trolleys passes at $7 each, kids under 12 free.
The Lynx cost $1.25.

When we had to be there early we had taxi from the hotel which cost us $30 one way!!!

There are a few minibus companies who stop you at the bus stop by seaworld offering to take you to Disney for $3 each. We used this once but the driver kept stopping to try and persuade more passengers to join us!! It was supposed to pick us up at Epcot at 9.30 pm but he wasn't there and the disney bus information service hadn't heard of the company :( He did turn up tho at 9.45 pm for us and another party of 3. To our amazement he jumped off the bus and went touting for more passengers, who he crammed into the bus!! It took ages to get back to our hotel because after he had dropped off the large group he called in seaworld to pick up 2 more!! It cost us $15 for the 3 of us which I suppose is quite cheap!!! We didn't do it again tho. And often saw Percell touting for passengers other times we were waiting for the Lynx!!!

Thanks for the replies.

Im just wondering why you chose the I-Ride Trolley to Sea World, if the QII puts on a freebie shuttle direct to Sea World.

Also, the shuttle costing $12 each direct to WDW you say arrives at 8:45pm. Isnt this a bit late, cos by the time you get to the park you want, it must be 9:30ish??

And another quick question, how long does the journey take then (door to door) from QII to Sea World (via I-Ride), waiting for a No. 50 Lynx Bus to TTC and then transferring to a park??

And what did you think of the Hotel??

Thanks again

We used the trolley to seaworld because sometimes we went out for breakfast first and saves the hassle of going back to the hotel (Hotel brekkie was urgh!!)

The bus left the hotel at 8.45 am not pm!!! and this was the earliest it ran. We never used it. They gave a leaflet about it at Guest Services.

Answer to time it took to get to WDW is depending on timing. Maybe as long as an hour if you have to wait for a trolley (they run every 20 mins) I can't really remember to be exact.

The hotel itself was fine .......... we mostly just slept there.
The larger of the 2 pools was the one we used a couple of times. It was ok. They supply towels by the pool. (small ones)
Our room was on floor 3 looking out onto the carpark, we thought it was noisy (from traffic) when we first got there, but then we didn't really notice.
There was a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, hairdryer and a brand new iron and ironing board in our room. It was a non-smoking room. The shower was quite powerfull. Clean towels every day if you needed.

Anything else just ask.

Thanks again!!

Sorry - I meant AM not PM!! D'oh!!!

So, to get to a WDW Park for, say, 9am, we should head out by 8am, to get the I-Ride Trolley?

If the Lynx 50 bus takes you to the TTC, then how do you know how to navigate the Disney Transportation System to get to each park, water park, Downtown Disney etc?

Can anyone help with a link to a map or anything to show Disney's own transportation system? Ive heard there's buses, boats and a monorail, but I dont know what links what to what (if you know what I mean)!!!

Thanks again,

And just one more thing -

The $12 shuttle fare from the QII to WDW - is this per person - and do you have to pay for kids - and is it a return fare??

Sorry to keep going on!

Lorraine:Pinkbounc

It was $12 per person, so I assumed they meant bums on seats!!!

When you get to the TTC there are signs telling which bus stop to go to for whatever park.

Some of the parks you may have to change. e.g. to get to Blizzard Beach we had to go to MGM first then get a bus to BB. Apparently they only go direct first and last thing.

The monorail goes to MK and Epcot.

When we wanted to get there early we used a taxi, even though it was expensive it was easier.

Hiya.....we've stayed at the Quality Inn a couple of times and a few others on I Drive including Embassy Suites. Most offer the free shuttle to the parks, but to be honest we never used them. We take cabs - there are always several lined up outside - they usually give you their card and you can phone to arrange pick up. It works out well if there are more than 2 adults plus kids in the party. There were 6 in ours - 4 adults plus 2 kids. We shared the cost of the cabs and although it's a bit extra - we find it's worth it to get to the parks quickly and leave easily to get back for showers, etc to go out for the evening. Also, if you stay with the same one - he gives you discounts!:D

P.s. Cab costs ranged from $20-35 depending on which park we were going to.

I am going with Virgin and I thought they ran a free shuttle from the hotel am I right? also can anyone tell me how long the ride is from hotel to magic kingdom? Im in two minds weather to hire a car or not

Thanks again everyone.

Julieandco:
We are also going with Virgin. We booked this as it is recommended as one of their "Flagship" hotels, but the
brochure says it offers free shuttles to Universal, Sea World,
and Wet 'n' Wild only. Not WDW.

Thats why Ive been asking about getting to WDW. It does
seem to be easier (from reading the previous replies) to
catch cabs!

Incidentally - to those that have stayed here - did you use
their laundry facilities? Is it possible that we can just give
them a huge bag of dirty washing, head off to a park for
the day, and return to find its all been washed and dried?

Thanks again,

Lorraine :Pinkbounc

Lorraine, My book says free to Universal, walt disney world resort theme parks wet n wild and seaworld. Does that not mean MK im getting worried now:sunny:

They do have service bags, but quite expensive. We did one wash late afternoon, went for a shower, came back and it was just finishing. I noticed people take out people's washing if all machines in use, even put on the floor!! So make sure you are back before cycle finishes - same with dryers too! The cycles are short - about 35 mins to wash and we did 50 mins in the dryer I think, then left to air in the room. I can't remember if there was a service wash down there at the Quality Inn - stayed at quite a few on I Drive apart from the bag thing in the room.

Julie -

According to our Virgin brochure, and the hotel's own website, (www.orlandoqualityinn.com) they do NOT run free shuttles to MK (or anywhere else in WDW)!

From previous posts, they DO run shuttles - but they're not free! About $12 each person. And they only leave the hotel at 8:45am.

When are you going?

Lorraine :Pinkbounc

You can walk to Wet and Wild, its only up the road. Next to a lovely Sizzlers!!!

Seaworld is easily accessible by both trolley and the hotel shuttle.

Universal is also serviced by the shuttle. Cost of taxi hotel to Universal $7

The shuttles were often crowded. They pick up at other hotels b4 the QII.

There are a few laundry areas in the hotel. Always someone there whenever we passed, there is a bench to sit on. (take a book) Powder is available from a dispenser (not sure of cost....didn't use machines)

oops im in a different hotel. Im in the Holiday inn what a plonker late August by the way:confused:
