We're just back from 6 nights on the QSDP, here are some notes/comments.

1) Substitute!!

We were able to get a "snack" instead of a drink. We did this repeatedly at the food court at Sports (where we were staying) since we had mugs. This meant that all three of us could eat breakfast with one meal credit. We got the bounty breakfast with biscuits and gravy instead of the drink and extra eggs instead of the potatoes. One person had the biscuits and gravy, one person had french toast sticks and bacon, and one person had scrambled eggs. It worked out great for us. Note: there was one cashier who said you couldn't get biscuits and gravy instead of the drink, she insisted that you had to get fruit or pastry. I just went to another cashier who rang it up no problem.

We also split two lunches three ways sometimes. Because the desert options weren't all that exciting, sometimes we substituted a drink for one of the deserts so that we each had a drink.

2) Snacks

We were able to get the ice cream cookie sandwich at the main street bakery. No problem.

Like others we ended up with a bunch of snacks to use at the end, but had no problems finding things that traveled well and now have Disney treats to get us through the impending storm!

I have some thoughts on the RFID in the mugs at Sports, but will put those in another post.

Let me know if there are questions about our experience!

You're lucky that they allowed some of those breakfast substitutions. We've never been allowed to substitute a protein like eggs or bacon or sausage for a starchy side like potatoes despite DH being diabetic. At POFQ the biscuits and gravy are not considered a snack item; they're considered an entree so again that wouldn't have been allowed on that item either. It's great that you could do this and in no way am I trying to say that it didn't happen because I honestly do believe you that it did.. Just don't plan on always being able to. It's kind of like milk shakes as the drink at value resorts; sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. It all depends on the CMs working at the time as they're really not supposed to allow it but sometimes will. I always ask a cashier before ordering because I don't want a surprise when I go to pay.

Nothing that we didn't like! Our favorites were Tangerine and Wolfgang Puck Express. Both were a great value with lots of yummy food for your credit.

This is all good to know. There are 5 of us on the 1TS 1QS DDP and are using up extra TS for HDDR and and Artist's Point and I was hoping we could share 4 even 3 QS meals between 5 to make our QS meals stretch out. Are the QS servings big enough to do that do you think? We are 2 adults and 3 teenage DD's who eat well but not huge amounts.

You could easily share. DH and are are eaters and we shared one meal a number of times and were full. If you don't care about the desert you can get an extra drink which makes the sharing even easier! Cosmic Ray's has a huge chicken and ribs meal, I would think two of those might feed all five of you!

Have a great trip!!
