QSDP Refillable Mugs Question

We've always done the "regular" dining plan, but we're planning a short trip in August and we're thinking about just doing the quick service plan.

Can someone explain how the mugs work? Are they just for the resort and then you get drinks in cups with your meals at the parks?

We went to Typhoon Lagoon a couple weeks ago and I noticed refill stations there, but I've never seen them at the main parks.

We did the QSDP on our June 2010 trip for the first time in all of our trips. The mugs are to be used at your resort and I'm not sure about this but I think you can use them at the water parks. You do get a beverage with the QSDP so you will not need to take the mugs to the parks. We loved the QSDP and found we did in fact get a lot of food so do your research well and you can find great meals not just hot dogs and burgers. I highly recommend Wolfgang Pucks express in DTD for a meal..

Thanks for the reply! I am a little concerned that the QS meals are always hamburgers/hot dogs and fries...do you have any recommendations for good QS restaurants at the parks? Epcot has a good selection, but what about MK and DS?

We LOVE Columbia Harbor House in Magic Kingdom (near Haunted Mansion) for QS shrimp! Also Cosmic Rays has a large selection (in Tomorrowland). We tried Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom for the first time this trip and were pleasantly surprised with this QS meal. Also tried Earl of Sandwich in DTD...another hit!

The mugs are only for your resort. The water parks have their own mugs to purchase. Sorry

We did QSDP last year and here were some of our hot spots
MK
Aloha Isle - granted it's a snack, but you can get a Dole Whip for a snack
Cosmic Ray's - everything from grilled chicken, ribs, wraps & sandwiches.
Tomorrowland Terrace - menu has changed since we were there. oops!

DHS
Studio Catering Co. - YUMMY! Not a burger in sight!
Pizza Planet - decent pizza's & a chicken salad.
Rosie's All American - yes, burgers, but they have a veggie burger and it's very good!
ABC Commissary - quite a few different choices.

Love hearing all the yummy QS ideas. We will be mostly in MK and Hollywood, because we didn't get to do everything there our last trip. We might be in Epcot a little when meeting my CM cousin for our tickets. I have a question about the refillable mugs. Why doesn't the regular dining plan include it but the cheaper QS plan and the deluxe include it?

That is hardly all the QS dining places have to offer. We ate on the QSDP for an entire week in 2009 and only ate a burger once or twice. We had everything from steak (at Pepper Market) to taco salads (Pecos Bill) to fish & chips (Cookes of Dublin) and even ribs (Flame Tree BBQ). Your best bet will be to click the dining link at the top of this page and review the menus for all the different QS places.
