I have read the thread earlier, and I know many recommend Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. We are arriving around noon, heading to Epcot first, so after getting Soarin' Fastpass, we plan to eat.

I found the menu: http://allears.net/menu/men_ssff.htm

Can we order any of the stuff on the plan? (we are staying at a Value, and got the PIN for QS Free Dining) Their sandwiches don't look that exciting to me, but the grill items do. Are those available?

And across the board in the parks, the locations listed as QS, are there limits on which meals you can get?

We are excited about getting the PIN for free QS, since we plan to use for breakfast/lunch, then have more to do some nice dinners!

I am pretty sure there are no exclusions at Sunshine Seasons. Exclusions are pretty rare, haven't run on one yet. (only a couple places have them and it is mainly TS restaurants I believe...correct me if I am wrong someone).

The porkchop meal is huge! That chop looks like a 16oz prime rib roast, it is so big. lol

And don't count the sandwiches out. The italian one is very good.
Make sure to look for the strawberry shortcake...mmm mmmm.

Thanks for the quick reply. I jsut couldn't imagine the chicken, chops etc. counted for our "cheap" dining plan. :cool1: Very happy to hear it!

This is the 2nd trip for (adult) daughter and myself. I took her two years ago for her college graduation present. We sort of did it last minute with comparatively little planning on no dining plan. We did fine. She and I actually shared counter service lunches most days. We took pop tarts, instant oatmeal, tea bags and a hot pot and did breakfast in the room each morning.

Since I had the PIN, the QSFD was free, and now we can use our food budget for a few nice evening meals at the other restaurants! We each have a Chase Disney Rewards Visa, so also have lots of credits there to spend on souvenirs and dining!

I think you will enjoy having the QSDP. We really like it and in particular, the flexibility it offers.

Sunshine seasons is also one of the nicest CS locations IMO. The only thing you need to look out for is when you order a CS meal, some drinks may not count as part of that CS credit usage. There are one or two bottled beverages that are excluded. As far as I know, any desserts count and you will certainly have no problem with choosing whatever entree you like.

You should also check out Cosmic Rays in MK. They have a roasted chicken and rib combo plate that is great. I too thought no way could that be available on CS...but it is!! ;)

We've never had difficulty using the DP at SS. When it's crazy at SS we hit the Electric Umbrella while at Epcot. I second Cosmic Rays in MK... we also use our QS credits at the Lunching Pad to get a turkey leg lunch (side and drink included with QS credit).

Unless things have changed, there are no exclusions at Sunshine Seasons - we definitely felt like we got great value here, and have MANY times ordered many different items.

since you got the QS pin, you might want to look into upgrading it to the DDP for approx $10/person/night... then your "nicer" dinners would be paid for too! :)

I know we could, but honestly I think the QS suits the two of us better. And we get an extra snack this way.:thumbsup2

We actually plan to pay for most of our off plan food and our souvenir shopping with reward points from our Chase visas.

We all love Sunshine Seasons, Cosmic Ray's and DD1 and DH really enjoyed Electric Umbrella at Epcot last June during SWW! We always do SS for b'fast on the day of EMH at Epcot. Cosmic Ray's is one of our faves at MK! Their burgers are quite tasty! DD1 loved the bacon cheeseburger and DH had the toasted turkey subway (reminded DH of a Quizno's sub) at Electric Umbrella and said it was quite tasty!

We're doing the regular DP in December so we need to think about our QS meals as we already have our sit down meals figured out!

ahhhh, love disney visa reward points!!! :)

The QSDP actually has lots of variety, so you won't be stuck just eating burgers. There are no limits on what you can order at any of QS restaurants that are on the DDP. Definitely go to Wolfgang Puck Express at DTD Marketplace, they have the best value for the QSDP and the food is so good.

Wow! That menu looks great! We have an evening planned at Downtown Disney, I think we just found dinner for that night. <g>

Sounds like Sunshine Seasons in Future World at Epcot and Cosmic Ray's at MK are favorites among several of you. How about AK and HS? We ate at Yak & Yeti (AK) last time and really did not care for it. I believe we had Honey and Sweet & Sour chicken.

My favorite CS meal in AK is at Flame Tree BBQ. Sadly, it will be closed for remodeling for my August trip. You'll find several good reviews for Pizzafari, with Yak and Yeti and Restaurantosaurus following in popularity. Restaurantasaurus has A/C, which seems to be it's biggest draw.

HS CS meals a sour topic for many on the Dis. There just isn't the same selection and quality that the other parks have. I've always had good luck at Backlot Express. For our next trip I plan to try the new menu at Fairfax Fare (was Fairfax Fries) now that they are offering BBQ items.

To be honest, I could eat at Epcot everyday and not get tired of the food. World Showcase is my idea of a good time!:thumbsup2

Just returned from WDW and our first QSDP. Add us as fans of Sunshine Seasons, Cosmic Rays, Wolfgang Puck and Flametree BBQ. On our first day eating French pastries, we met a couple also on the QSDP and their DD was eating this wonderful looking pastry from Norway. Worked our way to Norway and found that it has a great CS. You need to say that you are on the QSDP. The CMs will tell you that you have a choice of sandwich AND a salad or fruit cup or soup (not the chef's selection) PLUS ANY pastry including the two sweet pretzels which sell for more than $4 and are huge. A family ordering the CS said that they thought it was the best because the sandwiches are huge, you get fruit or salad as part of the meal, and any of the pastries. The dad said that he gets the sweet almond pretzel and keeps it for breakfast the next morning, heated slightly with a cup of coffee...good eats! We came back later in our trip. I couldn't finish the turkey, ham and bacon club, saved half plus the pretzel. The next morning, I was not able to finish the pretzel either;)
