Is there anything at HS for QS or is it better to just go to boardwalk area and if so where would you eat....

The Boardwalk would be a worse option. There's the bakery with some pre-made sandwiches and the pizza window with slices of Disney pizza. (And if paying cash instead of DDP, there's a few carnival food booths)
The Boardwalk is only a decent dining destination for table service dining.

At DHS, the Sunset Hills market has a few decent options if you don't mind ordering from different stands and outdoor seating.
Backlot Express is the typical Disney burgers and chicken nuggets, but there is free drink refills and some indoor seating.
ABC Commissary has indoor seating and a fairly ambitious menu (and I think they now bring food to your table?)

FYI, if you are not using dining plan points, the Brown Derby bar has an outdoor seating area, and you can order quality food in QS price ranges without needing an ADR.

We eat at Backlot Express. They have burgers, a caprice sandwich which is nice, and a great grilled chicken salad. Not too much else we like in the Studios other than sweets! haha

Min & Bill's Dockside Diner - Chili Cheese Foot-Long Hot Dog
Fairfax Fair - Empanadas, Fajitas, Pulled Pork
Rosie's All American Cafe - Burgers, Chicken Nuggets
Trolley Car Cafe - Sammiches and Cupcakes

I'd make an ADR and skip quick service all together. SciFi and 50's are our favorites and they really aren't much more expensive than quick service and are light years above. Heading to the boardwalk for beaches and cream is a great option too.
