Just a friendly vent and complaint here :) It's late and I'm in panic mode because our trip is 10 days away!!

I just really can't believe the lack of Quick Service options at the Boardwalk Inn -- or the Yacht/Beach Club !! I am super excited to stay at such a beautiful resort but I'm worried about the food options :)
:sad2:
The past few trips we've stayed at SSR and POP -- while they are on different ends of the spectrum I was highly impressed with the Quick Service options at both resorts! The flatbreads at SSR- YUM!:cool1: The choices at POP- Fantastic!!:banana:

My family does not each cold sandwiches that are sold at the Boardwalk Bakery.. :confused3 We always leave DHS for lunch back at the resort because we haven't been wow'ed by any QS at DHS, but now I'm thinking maybe we should stay at DHS instead

Sorry for the vent! I'm off to bed! :yay::rolleyes1

BC Marketplace has flatbreads now. There are some photos on the resort boards.

The Marketplace also has an awesome "create your own" salad. We have always enjoyed a flatbread of the day and a create your own salad. The salad is large enough for two and we share a flatbread. There is more to Marketplace than cold sandwiches.

Also, at BW Bakery, don't discount the sandwiches. I had a wonderful tomato and mozzarella sandwich with cucumber salad on the side when we were there in June/July. Others in our party had a turkey club and Italian style sandwich and they enjoyed them as well.

If you are looking for QS, both fit the bill and quite nicely. A bit more inconvenient than a true "food court", but good nonetheless. Also, don't forget, B&C does have a "take out" window and there is Hurricane Hannah's as well. :thumbsup2

Hello! Click the link in my signature for more information, but here are a few photos that might help:

I don't have a photo of the full Hurricane Hanna's menu, but you don't need admission to SAB to eat there, the seating area is very nice and the burgers are great!

This menu is a little old, but it gives you an idea of the options: http://allears.net/menu/menu_hh.htm

Hope that helps a bit!

There is also a pizza takeout window on the Boardwalk - at Kouzinna. I haven't had it in a few years but it used to be pretty good. There is also a kiosk that sells hot dogs that I walked past a few months ago when I visited the Boardwalk.

Also, if you have park hoppers, you could go to Epcot for lunch. Lots of good quick service in World Showcase!

Although its not IN your resort, your just feet away from Epcot! That has more QS and TS options than anywhere in all of Disney. As long as you have hopper passes, you can go there every day for whatever you want! Thats why people stay in that area!!!

I agree with the lack of great options at Boardwalk, but as others have said, you are a very short walk from some fantastic options at Beach Club (Marketplace is delicious and very reasonably priced), Hurricane Hannas with outside table, Swan/Dolphin options or Epcot.

Wow thanks for cheering me up! I feel much better! No park hoppers for us, we are a one park a day family :)

Is the Marketplace on the DP?

We did a split stay at BWV and BCV last summer and the only complaint was the lack of cs at the 2 resorts. Hurricane Hannah's is awful and the the BWBakery only offers sandwiches. To those who say "just go to Epcot" they probably haven't stayed there or they'd realize if you want an easy cs meal it is a hassle to have to walk over to Epcot.

If I'm lucky enough to stay at either of those resorts again I will skip the dp because it's not worth it at those resorts.

These are options, but not if you are on the dining plan, as these places don't take it.

I'm pretty sure it accepts the DP, but then again I am no expert since we never use a dining plan--we are TIW people. :thumbsup2

I never thought of that since the DP is such a poor value that we never use it. TIW works much better for us!

Personally I don't mind the Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Pizza Window and Boardwalk To Go when I feel like having a Quick Service meal.

My DD and I really disliked both Beach Club marketplace and the Boardwalk Bakery last year. The food courts at AKL and POP were both way better. However my DD loves SAB so we're staying at YC next month. I decided to get park hoppers so that we can walk in to Epcot to get better QS meals. My DD is only 9 so she thinks burgers and chicken fingers at Hurricane Hannahs is fabulous.
