QR shopping question

I was going to shop using QR.
I had a free shipping code provided to me by the online store.
When I went to look up the store to shop on the QR site it stated in bold letters that catalog codes used to shop at this store would get me zero rewards.
Why?

I didn't have time to email QR to ask if they had any codes I could use. IMHO, if they had codes they should be posted, not tell people to email for them.

I used My Points instead. I've never had trouble when I use codes with My Points.

Why won't QR let me use coupon codes?

I'm just curious.
