Hi Guys,

For those who have been on the Q7 or Q8 flights - how full were the flights? DP read that they had to reduce passengers and luggage to get the extra fuel on board.. is this true?

We're off in two weeks; hope the strike action is cleared by then :)

Cheers,
Waybuloo :)

We flew over to Dallas on the 30th July and our sons had a spare seat next to them the crew told them that if anyone screens stopped working they would have someone move next to them as that was the only spare seat within 4 hours they had someone sitting next to them I should really say 6 because that did not include the 2 sitting on the runway:rotfl:
On the way back in September there was only 3 or 4 seats in the middle section on the way home.

the Frequent Flyer Forum said when they originally launched the route they were running with non-full planes to get weight and time right but now they are underway it is pretty full.

On the return flight, they face headwinds and the flight is longer and takes more fuel. The SMH has reported that they are sending luggage via LAX sometimes because the plane is so full - so be prepared for discovering that joy on landing back in Sydney!

Perhaps someone with access to, is it Seat Expert?? - that program that shows how many available seats are on a flight - can give you some more precise advice.

I didnt see any spare seats on qf7 when we flew on sept 16, waiting at MCO now for our connection to QF8 tonight, will let you know how that goes when we are home in about 30 hours.

Have a great flight home Battymum :goodvibes

On the way over there was only a seat or two spare I could see - we were at the front of economy. On the way home there was at least 20 empty seats, again we were at the front I didn't really pay any attention to the back of the plane!

Thanks guys :) You sure are a wealth of information :)

Hope you arrived back safely Battysmum!

Fingers crossed the industrial action and the plane cancellations are sorted by monday week :D

nope, no spare seats on our flight, and our 10 checked bags came with us.

Except for the Brisbane to Syd bit, the captain made an announcement "good news for economy, there are 80 spare seats" not worth moving for 1 hour flight:laughing:

Woah, 80 spare seats! I've never seen such an empty plane.

We're flying from Brisbane to Adelaide, I think it'll be the longest 2 hours of the trip! :)
