I am so annoyed because the christmas quest is ending January 2nd (My B-Day) and i will never get to WDW as we live in Scotland and might i hence the word might be going in summer wat a bummer!

Why must they take away quests? First HM, now Holiday! I do see the logic of removing it though: no point of having decorations in Febuary... lol

But why must they get rid of quests? I mean, for a person like me who can't go to WDW or DL as I live in the UK it is hard to get quest stuff.

So will they ever bring back old quests? It would be so awesome to go and get the stuff I missed from DL or WDW!

Well I see why the holiday quest is going away because it is just for the "holidays" but I am sure they will bring them back next year with different prizes or the same. But vmk most likely will be adding more quests to try to get us VMKers to go to the Parks.

but have you seen how much they want for a pack of the hoilday cards on e-bay nearly $50.00 plus posting!!

What he said, it is strictly prohibited by TOS. It is never what they intended for VMK. Remember it is a marketing tool for Disney. If nothing else to get them when they are young as all companies wish. If Disney wanted them sold they would just sell them on their own. The sole purpose being, to drive people to the parks. As long as VMK is they will have "promotions" like the quests, but as with all marketing they will probably try to keep it fresh and continue to evaluate its effectiveness.

you do realize that there are people that have made a business not just of selling the cards, but of creating in park charachters and such. And tell me, how are they ever going to know that you bought them on ebay? They give alot of those cards out like candy! I know one person who went to Disneyworld and in one day, cleared 30 Penny Presses and over 100 Happiest Place on Earth pins. What do they think you are going to do with them all???

and actually, I just read through the EULA (End User License Agreement) and nowhere does it state that you cannot sell the cards or any digital images you get while using their software. All you agree to is not to sell the SOFTWARE itself. or reverse engineer it (which has been done on here about a dozen times already with noone complaining, thats how they get the dictionary). There are NO rules as to selling the cards, accounts or even trding your stuff for cash. But then again, people get banned for saying the word "work" or "school" all the time. The only thing in VMK Values that you cannot do is and I am quoting directly "Give away, trade or sell your VMK Character. "

It is not part of the software licensing. It is part of the “House Rules” which is part of terms of use technically. As well as on the disclaimer on everything (certificates) you print as well as on the quest forms.

VMK House Rules
Whether this is your first time online or you're a seasoned visitor, we've spelled out our house rules for you here. Generally speaking, these rules simply require respect and good manners. Use common sense and you'll feel right at home.

Our specific house rules:
9. Don't buy or sell accounts or items. We reserve the right to cancel any player account that was bought or sold, or player accounts that have bought or sold items.
10. By use of this site and the VMK game, you agree to abide by the VMK Terms of Use.
11. Failure to comply with the rules of VMK may result in your being banned from VMK temporarily or even permanently.
If disney want Ebays co-operation on tracking this they can force it as is is a contract violation and Ebay is known to be co-operative with issues like this as useing ebay in that maner so as to make them liable probably violates ebays TOS.

-we aren't trying to be down on you if you have purchased - only warning that 1. it puts you at risk. 2. I would not advertise your participation or knowledge of transactions.

It may well be on the quest forms and such, but again, like I stated before... how would they know?

and it also isnt in the FAQs at all. If you search for it, you cant find it because it is stuck on a PDF, and only people who get the PDFs from the games, or specifically plan to go to Disney and open the Quests would see it. Technically, if it isnt listed in the Values or FAQs it isnt valid. HOWEVER - there is that little "we reserve the right to cancel and account for any reason" line in everything (that was ad-libbed).

All I am saying is... go do a search on ebay for "VMK" and you will pull up over 100 listings on any given day for everything from Quest cards to the multiuse codes you see on this site.

They get rid of quests so that there will be new quests and people will make repeated trips to WDW or DL.

Ok, you missed the point. so my final word is there is also places you can download free music, it's not like anyone has ever been in trouble for that. Besides if it is on sale on ebay Im' sure it is perfectly legitamate business. Tell you what I'm into contacting them today perhaps I will suggest they put their opinion on the matter on their newsletter since there seems to be some confussion on it. That wasn't my point but so be it.

But Disney has promoted this secondary market ipso facto. For a collector like me, I want a full set of cards. Limiting going on a tour every 90 days, not having a group going on the tour with me, being over 1000 miles away from a park and only giving out 1 of some cards per tour creates the pent up demand. Maybe that's why they are doing away with the tour....to give a fair shot for everyone to get the cards they want and have the secondary market dry up.

actually Disney has promoted the cards on the secondary market, they have made statements on them in Card Collector magazines and such. I should know, that is my first passion. Card Collecting. I care more about the card than the code. They can say whatever they want, but knowing Disney in the way that I do, they are secretly cheering over this. Promotion is the name of the game, even via ebay sales. They just dont care what happens after the fact. They love it when my company does pre-releases and the items wind up on ebay, even thought there is a "not for resale" sticker on ever item. Its all about spreading the word. They know that many people just cannot get to teh park, but if people are going to take the tour, but the candy whatever just to get the card to sell on ebay, then thats good too.

People People! Let's not start a flamewar on this! If VMK say it's bad, it's bad, end of story.

who was flaming anyone? We were actually having a pretty good discussion if you ask me.

No argument, just healthy debate. He has good and legitamate points I just have concern on if they wished to uphold specifics in their rules. I agree it is a big market so I leave it alone.
