Q re: Premium Magic Band - Scheduled to pick up at resort, but reservation canceled. Will I get a refund?

I’m scheduled for a split stay – 4 nights at BC then 2 nights POFQ. The Beach Club reservation was through my friend's work conference and paid for by her company. I was recently added to the reservation since her fiancé couldn’t go. I paid for a premium magic band and I’m supposed to pick it up at check-in.

Unfortunately the conference is being canceled by her company due to Coronavirus concerns. My question is, will I still be able to pick up the magic band or will it get canceled as well (hopefully with a refund)?

I still plan to go to and will get a hotel (possibly offsite) for the nights before my POFQ reservation. I could stop by BC and pick up the band.

I already received my band for my POFQ reservation, so I don’t really need another MB. I just want it because I think the Minnie icon band is adorable and I was happy to get it cheaper.

I was hoping someone encountered a similar situation. Mainly because I trust the board's knowledge - if I call Disney, I'll probably get a different answer every time

I'd actually have your friend ask the travel agency who handled the conference booking. Ordinarily when the reservation is cancelled, you lose the discount on the premium magic band. The band still goes to you, but you now have to pay full price.

But I'm not sure if/how a conference booking changes things.

I didn't think to check with the agency - great idea! A lot of the attendees had booked extra nights for their families at the conference rate, so the company & agency are working with Disney on how to handle so those nights don't get cancelled too. I'll ask my friend to throw this question in as well.
