does your ap continue on one year from the original end date or one year from the date you renew? In other words, if my pass expired July 20, 2014 and I renewed it Aug 1, would my new pass expire July 20, 2015 or Aug 1, 2015?
i believe its your original date not the renewal date. technically you are renewing your old pass. if you let it expire (>30days) then you would lose the renewal discount. but you would start a brand new year(new pass). make sense?
i just renewed mine a week or 2 ago and got my new pass in the mail. apparently the started a new system. my new card only says my name rather than the expiration and the type(premium) the note i recieved with the card said its because im keeping this card forever. no new card ever unless i request one.

As long as you are within the 30-day renewal window, the renewed AP will have an expiration date based on when your previous pass expired. So, in your case, it would now expire on July 20, 2015.
As BoomerThePirate mentioned, the new cards do not have an expiration date on them anymore. I got my AP in October and it was already that way. It makes sense in that DLR no longer has to send out a new card each year to each AP holder than renews their AP.
