How can I get a statement of points use / gain? This would be similar to a cash flow statement, but with points. I've asked Member Services twice, but don't seem to be able to communicate what I want, because I don't end up with the statement. How should I describe it to them, or don't they offer such a statement?

I'm thinking of something that shows all the activity in my accounts including annual points award, use, banking, borrowing, and transfers.

Any advice will be appreciated.

What you describe is the point statement. It will detail every transaction that has ever taken place on your account. They are tricky to follow -- especially if you have add-ons or multiple contracts. If asking by phone hasn't spurred them to send you one, I'd ask by e-mail.

For whatever reason, I got one in the mail the other day. I now have my original purchase, plus 3 add-ons. Believe me, you don't want to try to read this thing (it's worse than a cell phone bill).
I called MS and just verified my remaining points, then assumed this statement was accurate and gave it the heave-ho.

Maybe (crossing fingers) someday, DVC will get with the '90s and have an internet-based system for this?!?

I guess I'm dreaming.

To emphasize, it's not a very useful piece of information for most of us. It is simply a line listing of what MS has done with points. It is very difficult to follow and I never have problems with cell phone, regular phone, credit card statements or bank statements. If the final numbers are different I find it more harmful than helpful trying to figure it out.

I would agree; the DVC statement is VERY difficult to follow, particularly if you have multiple contracts.

Cap,

You would be much better off going over your acct on the phone with MS;). The statement, of your acct. they send to you is a "joke" . I would hate to see one that has add-ons, different use yrs, etc:( .

I just emailed them my request for a point activity statement, in just a short time I got the automatic response that someone would be in contact with me within three days. About two days later I received another email stating one would be mailed. A few more days later I received one. Last time I made reservatons I asked about if they were going to make this information available from the internet. It is suppose to be being considered already.

Thanks to everyone for their helpful replies.

It's a nice idea, but its also an expense that we'll have to pay for somewhere along the line, probably as a part of our membership dues. Is it worth the extra cost?

We booked a trade to the Marriott in HH for next March. Without asking they took my Vero Beach points and used them toward the trade. I have very few of VB and wanted them to use my OKW. After I got MS to change it all back, she sent me a point statement. It is impossible to read. In fact, they have several trips on it that were added and subtracted on the same day. We had not made those reservations. If you have addons it is not easy to figure at all. I did finally have the right number per my paper work, but I had to call and ask them if we agreed. I couldn't tell on the statement. I don't know how they keep up with it. At least I have all my OKW together and my VB together. They have each addon separate.

I emaied and asked for a printout of all my point activity since I joined and I received one in the mail about a week and a half later.
It IS a little confusing, but I got my highlighter out and made sense of it. Now I keep it with all my DVCs stuff. I'm glad they sent it, b/ I ws thinking about past years and that I should have more points. Sure enough,my first year I lost points I had forgotten to bank.:(
I wish they sent the every year, but for now, I'll just request one every few years to make sure we're on the same page.

I don't understand why our confirmation letters can't provide point information. I have two other timeshares that do this. One shows current use year available points with banking deadline date and the other one shows previous points, points required, and points remaining. This is on every confirmation letter. This cannot be that hard to do. Even with multiple contracts they can show where the points are used from and remaining balance.
