Q - for those who got marriage license through Brevard County

Hi all,

I'm starting to stress over getting our marriage license. We faxed in our initial request form at the end of Feb but the clerk, Michele, said it was too early for her to enter it into the system. We are getting married on May 8th so she said she would only start the process at the beginning of March.

OK, so I contacted her last week (Mar 6th) and she said she hadn't had time to enter it in the system yet but would probably send out the application by the end of the week and email me once it was mailed.

OK, so I still hadn't heard anything so I emailed her Wed. Mar 14th to check on things but she hasn't responded.

Should I be worried? We are leaving to drive down to Orlando on May 2nd so we only have about 6 weeks left

Your input/advice would be appreciated.

I too am stressing out.

I sent our application overnight mail on Feb 23 I think, and when I called them last week they said ours was mailed out on Mar 5 but I haven't rec'd it yet.
We leave on the mar 23. What happens if I don't get it? do I have to pay again?

That's a good question. Can they issue a second copy in person if you don't receive it in the mail before you leave? I don't know if you can go to another county courthouse near Orlando if Brevard County has already issued a license for you???

Also, do you know if they send the license through regular mail to Canada?

I just called the brevard county office and talked to someone there, they gave me a transaction number and said that if i don't receive it before we leave then I will have to go to the office in either titusville or viera? and get a duplicate copy issued at no charge.
I sure hope it comes in the next 4 days before we leave!
