Q for BWV experts on whether to use online check in

Hi all,

We are staying at BWV during F&W next week

We will be arriving in the late afternoon, and were wondering if we should use online check in...we have several room requests (2 rooms close together, near elevators for medical reasons) and we're concerned that if we use online check in the front desk will ignore our requests. At other resorts (VWL & AKV) we've had better luck checking in at the resort.

Any opinions or experience with how BWV handles requests and whether it matters to check in online? Thanks!

I never do online check-in and have never had a wait in line to check-in at the front desk.

Been BWV members for over 14 years and our rate before on-line check-in for getting our room before 4 was about 50% and our getting our room requests also about 50%. Have now done on-line check-in six times at BWV and we have gotten our room before 4 three times and our requests three times. At least from our perspective, on-line check-in has not changed a thing except it lowers the number of minutes you are at the front desk when you check-in. The one hing I learned early is that the box you see when doing on-line check-in which asks for your requests does not work with DVC and should not be used because all DVC requests must go through MS and they do have those requests even if doing on-line check-in

Online check in is designed to lower labor costs for Disney and to reduce check in time for people at the Value and Mod resorts. It was designed for Disney's cash paying Guests, not the DVC.

It doesn't seem to get you your room faster and until recently, you could often spend more time in line if you checked in online.

Arrived at BWV on Oct. 2nd(Sun.)@ 3:00 p.m.
CM approached us and asked if we were checking in and had done it online
Gave CM our name and he went off and we sat in the lobby
In minutes the CM returned with our keys and packet.
We were off to our room and a glorious vacation.

I don't know if this is typical or A-typical for BWV, but I will be doing it every time.

This is the next phase of the online check in implementation. Most if the resorts are now doing this. It speeds up the process and keeps the Guest from trying to change rooms.
