Q about WDW parking lots...

Hi all. So you know when you go into the parking lots at WDW (any of them), there are CM parking attendants that show you where to park. Say you go in the afternoon... are you able to drive past the CM's to see if there are spots closer to the front? Is this a dumb question? We're going in September, and last trip we had to park waaaaay in the back of the lots and walk forever, past open parking spaces.

I suggest you just follow the directions of the CM parking attendants. You may or may not be able to find parking spaces closer to the front. You will probably just cost yourself more time looking for a closer spot.

It depends on the volume of traffic on the day, but at some point the CMs no longer staff the parking lots to direct all traffic. When that happens, feel free to drive around to look for a closer spot, but until then, you should follow the direction of the CMs.

A problem is that, in many of the lots, once you choose a row to go down, if you don't find a space to your liking, there's no way to get to a different row without driving up a row against exiting traffic.

It looks like the OP is staying at Pop Century? Why not just use the buses and get dropped off (and picked up) right in front of the parks?
