Fellow DISers:
For our upcoming cruise on the Wish, I just checked to see if there were any tastings spots available.
Luckily I was able to snag a Rum tasting on CC day. - At 2 pm
But no location was mentioned (it says "check location once onboard")

If there's no location posted online, does it mean it'll take place in CC if it's during the hours ppl are on the island?
Since the vast majority of cruisers and CM's are not on the ship on the day of, I assume it's done on the island.
Is this correct?

We've only done one tasting in CC years ago and it was very fun.
Hope this is the case. If not, of course I'll cancel, I wouldn't want to waste a fun day at the beach.
TIA.

The one we did on our CC day was at the bar at the end of the pier (I don't recall what it's called). it was a mojito tasting and it was fun to do outside and on the island instead of in one of the ship bars.

I think this might partially depend on the kind of tasting that it as to whether it’s on island or on the ship on CC day. We have done rum tasting once and Mojito twice on CC day in the last few years and all of those were at the Heads Up bar. I think if you were choosing some thing like a whiskey tasting, that might be more likely to be on the ship. I suppose they might also decide to hold the tasting on the ship if it looks like the weather will be bad on that day.

Thank you for this. The mojito one at the bar you mentioned is the one we did years ago.
And what you say makes sense, that it could be determined by weather. But also being a Rum tasting it's possible that it's planned to take place on the ship (because of the glasses they normally use for the rum tasting).

When you did the rum tasting on cc, what kind of glasses did they use? the mojito one was done on plastic ones.
Rum tastings on the ship are done on whiskey or tulip glasses iirc.

I guess I should email or chat with DCL to find out.
When I get a response I'll post what they say here.

We did our rum tasting on board ship (but it wasn't CC day) but our mojito one was on CC. Also, our rum tasting was at 10 pm so I remember it was held in Meridian.
