We are thinking of eating at the Minnie and friends character bkfast at the Plaza Inn and I have some questions.

1. How is the food?
2. What time do they start seating people? Is it like the Pooh character bkfast at WDW where they seat people before the park opens?
3. How many and which characters do you typically see?

Thanks for your input.

I've done this one twice and I really liked it. I thought the food was good. Less selection than at Goofy's Kitchen, but still a very good choice (omelette bar, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, ham, pastries, waffles, bagels, fresh fruit, many beverages).

The characters I've seen are: Minnie, Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Rabbit, Fairy Godmother, Captain Hook. It seems I'm forgetting some. Maybe it will come to me later.

I'm not positive on the first seating time, but it seems like it was around 8am?

We ate there this past monday. Park opened at 10 that day, we met someone from Plaza Inn at gate 5 at 9:30 for our reservations. The other gates opened before ours did so it was difficult following her through the other crowds to get to plaza inn. The rest of the week we saw them letting plaza inn people in earlier which is a lot smarter so you don't lose have your group in the crowds.
Food was good, line for omelettes gets VERY long. The muffins were WONDERFUL...so were the potatoes.
Characters we saw were Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore, Chip and Dale, Fairy Godmother and Captain Hook.
We did Goofy's kitchen last year and I definitely liked Plaza Inn a lot more than GK. Have fun!

I've been to the Minnie and Friends Character Breakfast twice and
1. The food is good, there is a selection of omeletes, waffles (in the shape of MM), fresh fruits, and so on.
2.Each time I have gone we have made reservations and were seate around 9:30-10:00am
3. When my family and I were about 10 characters that sat with us. Including Minnie Mouse, Captain Hook, Tigger, Max, Fairy Godmother, Eeyore, Peter Pan, Chip and Dale etc..

And the first tme my famlly went to MCB Captain Hook and Tigger did a 'show'. The two got into fight right in front of our table after Captain Hook popped a teenager's balloon (it was pretty funny). I think that you really should go.

I went to this for my birthday and saw the same characters the other posters listed.

I got the last seating available when I called, which for that day was 10:40, and it was wonderful because as the restaurant cleared out, the kids had more time to spend with each character.

We had 4 toddlers with us and they had a blast! 2 of the little girls were chasing Chip around, but as soon as they saw Capt. Hook, they ran the other way!

I would definitely do this breakfast again. It's $25 for adults, and free for kids under 3, so my son and I can eat brunch at a reasonable (for DL) price with a 10% discount with my AP!

Do they have Mickey pancakes at the Plaza? I've read that you can only get Mickey pancakes at DL. I know I've had many Mickey waffels at WDW but never a Mickey pancake.

I didn't see Mickey Pancakes...just Mickey waffles. They have mickey pancakes though at Carnation Cafe and Mimi's cafe near HOJO's.

Along with what the OP said above about TIgger...he got into a balloon fight with my son and BF last week on our trip. It was hilarious. He kept bopping my son on the head with a balloon and so my son bopped him back....this went on and on for about 7 minutes.

We will be there Friday March 21st. Can't wait! it sounds like a bunch of fun
for the toddler and grown ups alike. My little dd is gonna wear her Alice dress that day to meet the characters. She is almost 3.

Good tip about the long omlette line. I will be SURE to get that 1st thing.
Our ressie is at 10am. I tired to make it later and the rep talked me out of it.
I can report back on how the time worked out when we get back. :flower3:

We're AAA members but for some reason I never ever think of asking if we get a discount. I'll keep this in mind for DL. Thanks!

According to mousesavers.com, you can get a AAA discount as follows:

American Automobile Association (AAA) members save 10% on food and beverages (excluding tax, gratuity and alcoholic beverages) at the following locations:

Plaza Inn in Disneyland

Wine Counry Trattoria in DCA

Ariel's Grotto in DCA

PCH Grill at Paradise Pier Hotel

Goofy's Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel

We love that late ressie time, especially on MM days. We can have a great morning of ride time and head over for brunch

Does anyone know if this applies to CAA as well? Sometimes AAA/CAA is interchangable, but sometimes it's not.

Has anyone done the character breakfast first thing in the morning? I know that doing it right when the park opens we will probably cut into ride time, but my boys are big breakfast eaters and I know they couldn't survive the first few hours of the morning with just a small breakfast to tide them over until a later ressie. I was hoping to do it @ 8:00 on a Monday, right when the park opens. I was just wondering if it was going to be super crowded first thing.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with me! :thumbsup2

You mentioned that the park opened at 10am on the day you went to Minnie & friends. Did you have a ps for 9:30? I'm assuming there was rope drop that day which is why the other gates were open too. We've always opted for charcter breakfasts in the 3 hotels since we can eat before the park opens and maximize the # of rides we can do in the morning. If we can get a 30 minute headstart at Plaza Inn before th park open to the general public, then I may consider it for our next trip.

Yes...our reservations were for 9:30. Mainstreet was open at 9:30 that day as well but the rope drop was at 10am. They lead us down main street and through the last store and had us enter through a door right by the corn dog stand next to plaza inn. So we were officially "inside" the park before rope drop, but were directed straight to plaza inn. We were in the first seating. It worked out great for us.

It's the same for ADAC (German AAA so to speak).

I asked them and Disney - both got the message "the discount should apply for you, too." :confused3
