PWSteal.Trojan Virus

That will help you remove it. But first (if you haven't already) , go to Symantec.com and buy some virus software. Running this day and age without it is just insane. Norton has stopped 2 email trojans alone in the past two days. It's great peace of mind and it updates itself all the time.

It's one of the pieces of software that I own that I *like* to pay for considering it's benefits.

Sorry for the soapbox. I try to tell everyone, so you just get the same old speech. :)

Thanks Jeff. I'm not sure why Norton didn't catch it since I have that downloaded on my computer.
I had tried the systamic yesterday but couldn't find instructions on how to remove the virus from Windows XP.
Does anyone else have ideas on how to remove this?

Just on a lark, I checked Norton's site, and you can download the newest version that scans your computer, emails and instant messages for $49

Click on your System Tray Icon for Norton and look at the last time the virus definitions were updated. That may be why it didn't catch it. If it's older, you can do a liveupdate and then run again and it should remove it.

"Solution 3" on that page should help you remove it. XP is very similar to NT, so that should be a good starting point.

My sister tried that and it doesn't work.
