PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

That's a lot of total weeks for Poly after the tower is fully opened and declared. Looks like the second largest now after Saratoga? Hopefully that plus the high point charts means they will have pretty decent 7 month availability, though probably preferred view mostly. I may not have to buy poly points to stay there once in a while!

I think you’ll have poly tower availability at 7 months if you’re willing to stay theme park view.

I am confused why Hilton is listed here, and how member + renter don’t add up to the combined total.
It’s Hilton Head resort (I had the same question at first). And they don’t add up bc the member is the % of rooms filled by dvc members, the “renter” is the % of available cash rooms booked (I think). So different denominators. The bottom one is the totally combined capacity fill.

Yeh that would make sense!

I don’t have an in depth knowledge of the hotel business, but a 95% occupancy rate across most resorts throughout the year seems pretty amazing!
I would love to see the occupancy numbers for non-DVC Disney hotel rooms. My guess is about 70-80% occupancy on average over the course of the year. Any chance those numbers are publicly available?

Disney reports total US occupancy in their quarterly reports, and it specifically excludes DVC members staying in points. It hovers around 90%; it was higher before the pandemic and has never fully recovered.

If you assume Disneyland is running roughly 98% all the time, Disney World would then be in the high 80s.

How would one go about timing school breaks such as winter break or spring break with a fixed week anyway. I do agree a FW would work well in the case of the Poly tower.

The Case of the Poly Tower sounds like the title of a Hardy Boys mystery. "Hey Frank did you see that shady figure in the jalopy pull up to the porte cochere? That was the same car we saw by the Boardwalk the night old man Johnson was found in the giant fish tank at the Seas with Nemo and Friends!"

Those are tough since the weeks move around. I’d say Presidents Week would be more consistent than spring break if your spring break depends on Easter and/or Passover.

I’m lost on the math. Original PVB has 360 studios and 20 bungalows. I thought the tower was projected to add 268 rooms which should give the property 648 rooms. Were the initial projections off or the lock-off vs dedicated skewed the projections?
It's lock-off vs. dedicated.

Island Tower has 222 rooms without lock-off splitting, which goes to 268 rooms when splitting the 46 lock-offs.

Ever been on vacation with twin toddlers? 🤣🤣🤣 one drops the goldfish crackers, then the other one dances on them. Then comes, “I hope that’s chocolate”. I am always a good steward to the family that has the room after our circus. I vacuum and Clorox wipe the room down, so they aren’t stuck waiting on mousekeeping to sort it out.
😆 …yes…(my own). And for some reason we’re adding a 4th 🤷‍♂️ 😬

Ok I confess I did not read all the posts here so forgive me if this has been asked and answered.

Is there any published inventory figures for PIT? How many studios, 1br, 2 br dedicated and lock off? All I have seen is total number of rooms. We almost always stay in 1br and occasionally 2br. Kinda want to know if competition for these will be high or not.

thanks

If you want one bedrooms you might as well stay somewhere besides Poly.

Look at post 915 thanks to @ehh

Great catch. And this right here is why Disney is developing DVCs instead of hotels. Port Orleans and Coronado have had some miserable occupancy rates in the past year.

Well they can go cry about it. 😂 Looked into a stay two weeks from now and decided to book at Universal instead, which was overwhelmingly cheaper even during HHN-time.

With FQ already ‘separate’ from Riverside, turning all of FQ DVC and leaving Riverside cash would be incredible. So much more appealing to me than OKW.

Of course they’d probably do the opposite because I think FQ is the more popular side.
I wonder what the points would be like if they ever did this? Maybe 25% less than OKW or SSR? Would be a great way to make points go further!

Well, it is Disney. If they ever did such a conversion they’d probably call it Deluxe by fiat, and match the OKW points chart but with smaller rooms. 😅
