That's not what I asked.
I'm asking who would book a tower Deluxe Studio *at the Poly* versus a resort Deluxe Studio *also at the Poly.*
I always think the same thing for RIV. Doesn’t seem to be enough if savings.

Someone who prefers the new shiny thing. Someone who just wants a Deluxe Studio and whose dates are available at the Tower but not at the longhouses. Big Moana fans. That's not what I asked.

I would agree...I would guess incentives are minimal out of the gate, but they will be something.Curious about incentives. I am thinking it’s worth locking in on riveria pricing before the 1st and seeing what the new cycle brings. Might be a hard decision on the 1st
I think I must not be asking my question clear enough because that's not what I meant either.I always think the same thing for RIV. Doesn’t seem to be enough if savings.
The studios also have a new sound machine for those that need it.Someone who prefers the new shiny thing. Someone who just wants a Deluxe Studio and whose dates are available at the Tower but not at the longhouses. Big Moana fans.

....also, people who actually prep food/eat in their studio (and as such value the larger kitchenette area, real dishes and dishwasher). People who don't want to be so close to the TTC madness.Someone who prefers the new shiny thing. Calling it a "double bathroom" is generous. It basically has an extra shower.I think I must not be asking my question clear enough because that's not what I meant either.
I'm talking about the original, existing longhouse Deluxe Studios versus the new Deluxe Studios that are in the tower. I'm not asking about the savings for the Duo Studio (though I agree, they're not cheap enough to justify the downgrade IMO).
The Morea/Pago Pago/Tokelau buildings are the same price as the Deluxe Studios in the tower, but they're WAY larger, sleep 5, are right next door to the TTC, and have the double bathroom.
This right here is why I think this is a net negative for longhouse availability. I think in a year or three we might see a significant change to longhouse availability at 7mo.I think I must not be asking my question clear enough because that's not what I meant either.

New owners ARE getting a head-start to book reservations at the tower, despite your adamant response in the other thread that this was not possible.Looks like it’s go time!! I was wrong for base price as reported elsewhere so that’s good for those who are adding on!!
Also, we can continue chat here vs the other thread.
That would be me - the tower looks awesomeThat's not what I asked.

I think most groups of up to 3 guests would be quite comfortable in an Island Tower studio. It's when you get to 4 or 5 that the extra space and bathroom of the longhouses matters. 75% of the studios will be in the Longhouses, so the vast majority of DVC guests will be in the larger rooms.I think I must not be asking my question clear enough because that's not what I meant either.

Ahhh ok - sorry! I thought you meant the resort studios at GFThat's not what I asked.

If you are a new buyer on 10/29, you can book starting nov 5. So they are giving some priority to addon buyers and new buyers before releasing booking to anyone with poly points already.New owners ARE getting a head-start to book reservations at the tower, despite your adamant response in the other thread that this was not possible.
If you are an existing DVC member, you can start buying on Oct 1 and if you buy, you start booking reservations on October 15. Everyone else can start booking on December 29.
Why is this being allowed?
Well 5 cant book the tower anyways since its capped at 4.I think most groups of up to 3 guests would be quite comfortable in an Island Tower studio. It has one normal-sized bathroom and the other one is big enough to play basketball in.Calling it a "double bathroom" is generous. It basically has an extra shower.

I think the language is still unclear. Yes it says "members who add on" can book October 15. It does not say that they will be the only ones who can book October 15. I suspect current Poly owners will be able to book the same day. EDIT: DVC later clarified that all poly owners will be able to book Island Tower on 10/15.New owners ARE getting a head-start to book reservations at the tower, despite your adamant response in the other thread that this was not possible.

Personally I'd expect there to be 2 toilets when one says "double bathroom"....or at least 2 "baths".It has one normal-sized bathroom and the other one is big enough to play basketball in.
But yes, an extra shower is the main thing you would expect to gain when someone says the word "double bathroom."
I don't know about your family, but two people needing to shower at the same time would be more of a disruption to my family's routine than two people needing to poo at the same time.
Dont think they berated anyone, just sharing why they (and most likely a lot of other families, mine included) would prefer the longhouse to the tower studioSo it seems like you already have the answer for your family....why the need to berate everyone else into providing a reason other family's might not need an extra shower (or to play basketball in the bathroom) and otherwise prefer the tower?
The fact that it can sleep another person and has an extra shower for the same points yup they will start to be filled and our 7 month bookings will disappear I fear as well. This right here is why I think this is a net negative for longhouse availability. I agree. There’s probably a legal reason for it but forget that; there’s no way Disney’s IT department could find The time to set up special rules for not treating all Poly owners the same for booking at Poly, a one time event. It does not say that they will be the only ones who can book October 15. I suspect current Poly owners will be able to book the same day.
