Puzzled by Epcot early entry wait times (thinking we can maybe skip this. . .)

Hello-

We'll be in Epcot this Monday, and after monitoring wait times this am (via touringplans app), I'm wondering if it's worth it. In short, wait times for top attractions seemed to spike very high during the early entry period (8-8.30), before dropping to rather reasonable waits as of about 9 AM or so.

Our top priorities are Test Track and Soarin' (no one is particularly interested in Remy or Frozen); I noticed that both rides were "closed" until about 8.15 before posting very high times (maybe due to a backlog of people waiting?), and then dropping. . . .

Anyone have any insights on this? We'd rather not rush to Epcot in the am if we don't have to, esp. if it's not going to amount to much of an advantage (if at all. . )

Thank you!!!

If TT and Soarin are your main priorities then I agree that ETPE is not a ‘must do’ for you. TT will have a wait whenever you go and possibly Soarin too but they peak during ETPE and often drop a bit later.

I believe TP wait times are determined by having users of their app provide input all during the day. Not sure how accurate that might be and wait times can fluctuate for a number of reasons. Rides can go down for maintenance or bad weather on short notice. I wouldn't depend on that type of information to walk all the way across the park just to find the lines are much longer now.

Likely you will find the most popular rides tend to have the longest wait times. Doubt there is any accurate way to predict how long future wait times will be.

Test Track and Soarin would not be closed until 8:15 because of long lines. They are normally open, so it must have been an operational issue.

Yesterday, according to thrill-data.com, the wait at 8:20 am for both Soarin and Test Track was only 10 minutes.

I was there this past Tuesday and rode Soarin during ETPE. It didn't build any mentionable wait until about 1 hour after the park opened.

When I rope dropped TT last year during early entry, many (probably 100s) people got in line for the ride . Immediately upon opening, the wait time was at 40 minutes. We were towards the front and walked on.
