Since I know absolutely NOTHING about medicine, and the DIS seems to have lots of doctor wanna be's, I thought this was a good place to ask for help.

The final result is in the form of numbers / coordinates. I'm guessing that diagnosis' have numbers?

(THERE WILL BE 2 OF THESE PUZZLES GOING AT THE SAME TIME. THIS IS #1).
Here is the other puzzle thread if interested. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2000803

This link also not working. Site said:

Ugh, I didn't realize they were premium member only caches. Maybe I can try copy & pasting the info needed. Give me a few minutes.

Yeesh! Can't you just do Soduko like everyone else!???? :lmao:

I admit that does sound like fun to figure out, but medical stuff makes me woozy.;)

I think the diagnosis has to come from that first list of potential illnesses.

I think the patient may be pregnant with twins. If so, I predict that it will be girls, possibly boys.

;)

I couldn't make it through all that. I do like the names, though. I always did that in nursing school. Some of the teachers did it on tests, too. Love corny crap like that. :)

Good luck!

If you have to go off the list, then Lyme Disease.

MRI is negative, so take brain neoplasm, CVA, MS off of the list.
VDRL is negative, so take syphillis off the list.
Hansen's disease is leprosy, and is a bacterial infection, so her WBC count should be high (but it's not)

I have no idea about all of the Western Blot stuff, but Lyme is the only thing left on the list.

Does that make sense?

Hi,

I am guessing Lyme disease based on the test results.

Ticks harbor the bacterium in their guts.

Facial paralysis can result from an untreated infection.

And the positive western blot also supports this diagnosis.

Good luck,

Connie

With this puzzle, I think they are reminding you to be careful out there in the woods geocaching!!

I'm sorry, I just quickly scanned the lab results (that's all).
That 88 Hct is not normal. Perhaps it was 38? That would be normal.

You have no idea how much I needed that laugh tonight. THANK YOU.:goodvibes

I started working your answers into the solution at the bottom of the puzzle to come up with coordinates. I'm heading out shortly for dinner, but so far, what I've worked on looks good. I'll let you know when I finish. :thumbsup2

I've never geocached, but I've heard it's lots of fun. I didn't know how to complete this part of the puzzle:

N: (D+F-A)(I-Q)(K+L-E)(N-B).(P-J)(G+M)(H-P)

W: 0(J-A)(O-B) (C+L-K)(P-Q-C).(E+I-H)(G-F)(E+N-H)

Do you use the number of letters in each word? :teacher:

Good luck!!

In this puzzle, yes. Some of them however don't seem to be coming out with logical possiblities since it can only be so far off from the fake given coordinates at the top of the puzzle. I might try taking a few guesses on the numbers that I think aren't right. The geochecker link lets me put in the solution & tells us if its right before we head out to find the geocache.
