Does anyone know the name of those puzzles where a word or letters are written and you have to figure out what it means? For example:

YYY MEN is 3 wisemen

We do not know the name of these puzzles, nor can we figure out 2 of them:

Y FIREWORKS

and

L
D
BRIDGE (The L and D are over the D in bridge)

Help, please!!
Thanks!!
Chris

maybe L "on" D "on" Bridge=London Bridge??...Yes I think that is right:teeth:
I LOVE those kind of puzzles!!!

The first one is tough....maybe "why buy fireworks"???? I don't know....but still thinking.....

London Bridge--that has got to be right--thanks!! We are still trying to figure out the other one.
Chris

let me know if you figure out the other one so I can get some sleep tonight.....:p :p

BUMP!!

Did you figure out the other one yet???

Told you....it is still bugging me!!!!

Still cannot figure out Y FIREWORKS, but I did find out that the name of these puzzles are rebus puzzles.
Does anyone know the answer?
Thanks!!
Chris

Maybe a stretch, but how about 4th of July Fireworks.... because Y is the 4th letter of July.

I love rebus puzzles! I too think "4th of July Fireworks".

4th of July fireworks !!!!!!

Way to go !!! Great puzzle solving !

Yea!! At first I thought "no...couldn't be" but it does make sense!!!!

We used to have a game years ago DH and friends and I would play...I think it was called Whatzit.....had those same puzzles...it was really fun.

C'mon people...

the L is 'on' the D, and the D is 'on' the (word) BRIDGE...

L-on-D-on BRIDGE....

Well aren't we sharp [tongued] ..... too bad you're not as with it as you'd like to think smarty pants. You're a day late and a dollar short on that "oh-so-obvious" answer.

Can't you play nice?

I think you can take it further-London Bridge is "Falling" Down. I do these puzzles with my students and we just call them Hidden Meanings. I thought Rebus puzzles had pictures that repressented words.

I love those kind of puzzles. They are great brain taxers:teeth:

I too first thought London Bridge, but I think Sandy's answer makes sense. The way it is written, London Bridge is "Falling" Down makes sense.:D

I love those puzzles. We went to Sandals a few years ago and they did this on a rainy day.
