Putting registration info. on baby shower invites?

I have always been taught that the guest of honor (bride, mom-to-be, etc.) should never put any registry info of any kind on an invite. However, showers are hosted by other people in honor of the bride or mom, so I consider it to be perfectly appropriate for registry info to be included by the hostess of the shower. I'm sure to get the "definitive" answer you could look in Emily Post's etiquette book.
