I have always gone to Disney World with family members so I have never really thought about the possibilities that may be available for two adults alone.

From hotels and dining to experiences available, can anyone please give me tips and advice on everything to make a memorable and romantic Disney experience?

(Please note that although I have been to Disney World many times, he has not.)

I love the carriage ride at Port Orleans. It is very romantic and good quality time together. Grab a bottle of wine and enjoy the horse drawn carriage ride through the lovely landscaped grounds of Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter.

Have fun!!

Carriage rides = horses = the stink of horses. Never do that.

For a real romantic day that might lead to a little pillow talk at night, you must to the following:

1. Open your mind to the romance of Disney magic. You husband/boyfriend will sense that you are putting out the vibe.

2. Park your keister at the Rose and Crown Pub at Epcot, have three or four gin and tonics and get a little flirty with the staff. He won't mind.

3. Enjoy a hot steak at Le Cellier in Canada, before watching the first batch of fireworks for the night. The second batch of fireworks will happen later in the night!

Wow, just wow. I have nothing to say to this trivial stuff. . .

Okay so I second the horse drawn carriage rides. My friends have done it twice and LOVE IT.

I also love walking the Boardwalk. . .Its a great place to watch the higher fireworks from Illuminations at Epcot.

I also love just hanging in World Showcase with someone. Its a great place to get to talk, and its like a mini travel "around the world" with someone.

Well, if the trip for just the wife and I ever happens, I know I'll be surprising her with a day at the spa in the middle of the trip. (It would usually be our "pool day" anyway, so it's perfect for the surprise.)

But that probably doesn't help you, unless your guy digs spas.

At the risk of involving more stinky horses, I'm also thinking about a horse ride at Fort Wilderness. She used to ride and I've always wanted to.

Okay, I have put some thought into this and this is what I've come up with!

Hopefully, some day I may get to try this! ;)

Take the boat ride from MK to FW around 8:00 PM. Order a pizza from Crockett's and go down to the beach area to eat and watch the Electrical Water Parade and Wishes while snuggling. Very romantic viewing point! :lovestruc

I love this idea!
We took the kids on the carriage ride at POR on our last trip as a surprise. It was cute for a family thing. However, I think I would feel a little awkward cuddling (totally PG) or having a lovey dovey conversation with my DH with somebody sitting so close. The drivers are a wealth of information and we really enjoyed chatting with ours, but not very romantic.

Very nice. I just may steal this.

I agree with this one. Fort Wilderness also has carriage rides if you like that idea, also.

Sorry, this may sound silly but do you have to be a guest at the Disney resorts to go from MK to FW on the boat? We're going on our HM in May but we have booked to stay in the Buena Vista Palace near DTD (although we have left 3 nights free at the end of our stay in case we can get a good rate for a Disney property!)

dragonfly82,

No, you do not. You will be fine!

Check out Disney Florist (www.disneyflorist.com). My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Disney, and I used them a couple of times. They can deliver to your resort, restaurant with an ADR or special attractions (ie Carriage Rides).

When we checked in, they had flower petals making a path to the bed, with more on top and Cinderella's glass slipper on top, along with a 'spa package' in a Mickey head box.

At on of our ADRs (Mam Melrose), I had a single rose waiting at the table with a Mickey decoration. Our waiter loved it, and brought all of the other staff over to see :-)

My wife used them for my birthday as well. She had a gift bag delivered while we were at the parks. It had sparkling cider (we don't drink), chocolates and two monogrammed champagne flutes.

Otherwise, I concur with the Carriage ride. It's nice, and I did it as a 'romantic' gesture, but, at POFQ, it's along a very well travelled path, and it was somewaht weird going by in the carriage with all of the people around. I'm not sure if Fort Wilderness would be more secluded or not...

One of our favorite nights of the trip was walking into Grand Floridian at about midnight, wandering through the lobby to the beach and making sand castles.

Not being connected to anyone outside The World for a week is the best for DH and I (we don't have any kids). Every time we make a trip, just the 2 of us, we always touch base with both families when we arrive, give them the resort phone number and our room number, and then put our phones in the room safe. Being able to focus on just each other for the week is the greatest. We also love to explore different nooks and crannies at the parks and in the resorts, and we make time to slow down and people watch. Spending slower paced, quality time together is super romantic.

Good idea! Not just for a romantic trip; but, for any trip.

I totally concur with the Disney Florist - my partner did that the last time we went (our anniversary) and I was happily surprised with a beautiful arrangement at the end of the first day. It was very special.

Other things we've done:
+ Order a glass of champagne from the booth at France and slowly stroll around France and Morocco. They are both beautifully themed areas to stop, sip, and kiss. We last did this in the rain too - there's something about champagne in the rain.

+ Sharing a super late night Dole Whip from Captain Cook's at the Polynesian while walking through the grounds at night. Very beautiful, quiet, and pineapple-y.

+ Not making it to rope drop - but instead have a slow morning to wake up, dress, and eat a leaisurely breakfast together - perhaps through room service.

+ Speaking of room service at the poly, nothing beats sharing a piece of chocolate cake and watch the fireworks from your room.

:) Now I want to GO!

Darkfirewolfe,

I like how almost everything you mentioned involves food! ;)

I agree with the slow mornings. Those are the best.

Do NOT spend the whole day at the park drain the energy for "later". Just saying....

Boardwalk is always a nice stroll and I definitely recommend eating! :rotfl2:
Eat foods that don't make you feel too full but still taste great so that you aren't holding your belly in pain or ready for a nap. :rotfl:

Try the fisherman's stew at Cat Corra's Couzinna (sp?) on the Boardwalk with a mixed drink.

Last month my wife and I watched Wishes from the beach at the Poly. We pulled a couple of lounge chairs close to the water's edge to get a little privacy. The Wishes soundtrack is piped in, although the sound of fireworks exploding are delayed by the distance. Still, I would highly recommend it - especially if you are sharing a Lapu Lapu!!;)
