I can think of no better place to ask for help than the DIS, so here it goes.
We have been to Uni several times but my daughters boyfriend never has. Her 16th birthday is coming up in October and she has decided she wants to take him there in lieu of a sweet 16 party. I have gotten her tickets to HHN because she has always wanted to go but I wanted her park days to be special too. I'm thinking of putting together a scavenger hunt for them to do. Has any one ever done this? Can you think of any clues that would be fun? I would be grateful for any ideas.
sorry for the long post.

Thank You Guys!

I think there are enough things to do in the parks without having to do a scavenger hunt. I don't know, I don't think I would've wanted to do something like that at that age. I would've wanted to just ride every single ride as possible.

I dont know, maybe I'm just a fuddy duddy by not wanting to do that...maybe someone else will come along with other ideas. :confused3

tell me if i understand this correctly.

are you planning to find places on the guide map and have questions for the kids to answer for a scavenger hunt type of thing?

like write out a question, such as: how many rides have nets under them, name them....
and then have the kids check out the rides to find the answer type of thing?

or are you planning to place notes in hidden places in advance and have the kids locate the notes and follow them to another destination?

i know one person that did that at disney.
they taped notes in hidden places the day before and the group had to go from one location to another. the first one to get to the last note was given a pin as a prize. that hunt took a lot of work on the behalf of the parent though.

it had to be at places that wouldn't be removed during the night before cleaning of the park.

Maybe you could set up a photo scavenger hunt. Have a list of places/people to take pics of. Ex: have your pic taken with spiderman/sitting in the dueling dragon seat/eating ice cream, etc. Then you could have a scrapbook of her special day.

Poohbug has a great idea  :thumbsup2
That would be super! You can have them take pic's near something and then they would have that special memory. Maybe supply them with a list of attractions, then a seperate list of where to have their picture taken ie: near pole with rope, Macy's sign, Green person, boat going over falls etc.... give easy clues that way they aren't spending the entire day looking for the "picture spot" but they do still have to "search" a little.

Yes Poohbug. That's what I was thinking of. Scavenger hunts in the mall are becoming very popular for teen parties. Not a treasure hunt but riddles to different picture spots or silly things like playing the piano on Me Ship The Olive. They have to take pictures to prove they solved the clues. I want lots of pictures to make her a memory album and this is the only way I can think of to get them. I want this trip to be different for her birthday. More than just riding the rides because we've done that a lot and I don't think her boyfriend even likes coasters.

That sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe you can start the first clue and we can help you continue.

Thing One and Thing Two have hairstyles of fuzzy blue.
It looks good on them, does it look good on you?
(She would have to get a picture wearing the blue hair in the shop)

How is that?

Be careful of me, you just might get soaked.

Love it! It's perfect! That is exactly what I had in mind. Thank you. I'm so glad I asked for help, I wouldn't have thought of the fountain.
I'm so tickled.

Get on the horn before it's too late!
