Put Baby Jesus down!

What on Earth is that?!

Chuck E Cheese.

No clue why he calls it that, he has never been there. He has seen the commercials. When I tell him that place has nothing to do with Jesus he argues that the tv says Chuck E Jesus. (cheeses)

Kids are so cute!

These stories are so cute. My kids never touched my nativity for some reason that was one of the few times they actually did as they were told.

My nativity set is Precious Moments..and the girls were told at a very young age (repeatedly too) that they are not to touch my Precious Moments. One Christmas when my nephew was over he started to touch one of the figurines and my oldest told him not to touch Mommy's movements.

My nativity is Precious Moments, also and I've gotten pieces here and there throughout the years from my husband. It's very special to me. :lovestruc

It's only in the last couple years that I've put it down within reach. I used to have it up on top of the entertainment center...mainly to keep it away from one of our cats...who used to try and carry away the baby Jesus in the manger!!

We have a tradition NOT to put baby Jesus into the manger until Christmas Eve after we get home from Mass.
My mother had a giant life sized manger scene with light-up Mary, Joseph, Wise Men, etc. We used to spend Christmas with her and we made a big deal of carrying Jesus out at midnight and plugging him and tucking him into the manger. We would then drink a glass of champagne and sing "Happy Birthday" :lmao:.

I have to repeat this several times a day! :lmao:

I have my nativity scene set up and my son keeps wanting to hold Baby Jesus. My daughter was the same way. :rotfl::confused3

I had a small plastic one for them but no deal. They like my nice ceramic one! The angels hands are broken off so she can no longer hold the trumpet. And they keep wanting to rearrange the wise men, shepherds, animals, etc.

I cracks me up that they love to play with my nativity scene.

I LOVED to play with the Nativity set when I was little. My parents had this old clay set...I remember it like it was yesterday. They have since upgraded to a crystal set, which no one is allowed to touch...or I would probably still be playing with it! :lmao:

Also (I can't believe I'm admitting this) when my sister and I were pre-teens, the angels, who were very pretty, might have made out with some of the wisemen. And some of the paint that was on their lips might have rubbed onto the wiseman's lips, and might still be there. Oh, and a shepard, too. But they stayed away from Jo-fiss. This is a holy place, after all.

I love this entire thread, but this is the story that made me literally laugh out loud!

Love all of these stories. The Nativity is my favorite Christmas decoration - always has been. I have several sets but my favorite is the one we had as a child. My mom puts it out each year right down to the legless dog and no hands wisemen and camels with taped on legs. She would always patiently tape them back on each year. Special memories.
Thank you all for bringing them to mind. Merry Christmas!
