pushing out the date of our trip HELP

I have got myself into a bit of a pickle. I booked a week at WDW for Feb. 2011. We are unable to make it. I called last night to cancel but because I purchased travel insurance on line with WDW, I cannot get my full deposit back. I decided to push the date out to August 2011. We have other plans this summer to go to Quebec and Ontario for two weeks with another family. As much as I would love to, we cannot do both.

So here is my question. Has any one ever pushed out the reservation for an entire year. Would they let you do that?

My husband is OK with going in 2011 but we both rather do two weeks there in 2012.

Any advise you can give would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you're more than 45 days out from a WDW package, you should be able to get your full deposit back. I don't really understand why buying trip insurance would change that?? You probably wouldn't get the cost of your insurance refunded though.

Yes, but you won't get the insurance fee back. I think that's the issue.
